The YouTube Beta Channel 3.0... Not As Bad As You Think

Trouble is the update from 1.0 to 2.0 although I really hated it the channel 2.0 still had all the features such as interests, music, films ect. and also it had improvements. although yeah i though 1.0 looked the best 2.0 actually had the best features. 3.0 all they've done iss make it harder to browse through videos, removed interests and that and generally made them harder to use. But have it my way... We'd all have Channel 1.0 coz they were awesome!

actually the new channels really ain't that bad.. but even the fixed, longer "feed" isn't reason enough for me to change it, simply because you can't watch videos on the channel any longer besides the featured one, which is a feature that i just love and don't wanna live without - it brings life to a channel, imo.. would miss that too much.

and the lack of creativity by designing your own layout isn't helping either.

..oh well, youtube will probably change over every channel soon anyway. shame.

it will take some time for me to get used to the new layout. I don't feel they really made any improvements, but I'm glad they're trying to modernize the look of the website.

I would love it if youtube gave us more flexibility in the customization of the channels. Seeing as most users identify these channels as their own, I would like to have all three channel layouts as raw templates, and then allow me to utilize distinct features from each to add my own personal touch.

i just try this out and i dont care for it... description is limited to 1000 charactors the layout has no customization settings. every thing blends and it all over the place! i never though id say this but i like the 2.0 channels better. of course youtube will force these channels on us just like they did the first ones.

The only reason I don't like the new layout is because you have to hit "see more" to see anything. Other than that it's perfectly fine.

Why is everybody bitching and moaning about Youtube's new layout? It's only a little change. The only reason why these people bitch and moan about the new Youtube layout is because they're not use to it yet. Just give it a couple of days or weeks. I bet that some day if they changed the layout again, these idiots would be all like "NO! I WANT THE OLD PAGE BACK!!!!"

It is most likely that Youtube is going to force the new channel design on us, just like the old one. Fact: Everyone hated the old design when it was beta, and Youtube still forced it. The only major good point you brought up was the fact that you can change it back, and that will likely change sooner or later.

Youtube is supposed to be community driven, but Google really doesn't act the part...

@Reboundary They don't force anything, they're making changes to the website that they own and those changes they prefer, all we own is our own content, and that's really what matters most. They expect people to not be happy about it because they know how much people don't like change, but we were also provided with partner exclusive features like the featured channels.

Whether the channel design changes or not, the community stays the same. Sharing videos, social networking etc.

@KBMadhouse If they want us to keep using their shit, they better listen to us. The Beta (2.0) wasn't that bad when it came out. I prefer the old channels, but these are fine. If it's not broken, why would you downgrade it - that's what it is, a DOWNGRADE. Thank you for supporting this, faggot.

That beggining was funny I kinda like this change kinda don't because I talk with my friends in PMs and unlike last one when where I get a message it would show me. Know I have to press my channel things just to see if I have a message or not.

@RetartedScraggy The alert does come up if you click on the username drop-down menu next to inbox, but yeah, it should just appear on the home page, the page before the last home page showed each different alert you had front and centre.
