A lot of eastern martial arts tradition whether its from chinese, japanese, korean, thai or etc comes from culture.. which in this case has NO SIGNIFICANCE since you are European.. thus you do not understand..while you learn the great techniques which we teach.. you try to make a fool of the tradition and culture that comes along..if this is the way - it would be best you learn your european martial art and leave chinese, japanese and eastern martial arts alone..

The one in the full gi pulled the board and folded it beyond its natural point of flexibility. The stick he broke on the bricks was also very thin, and not hard to break. Of course I'm sure these guys could do a legitimate break, the main purpose of this demonstration I believe is for humor.
Pretty funny, but one of them clearly farts fiercely pretty gross not funny either, not sure if intentional listen close you can hear it. Looking at Bas's face it looks likely he was the culprit and did the foul deed. Humour in demos is great but farting during one especially in a sustained manner is uncalled for! Nor does it set good example especially to younger people in terms of eitquitte, you don't want people breaking wind during a class.
I actually met Bas over a decade ago at Dragonfest, what a guy! Very nice, friendly and sincere. He was a truly cool guy with no sign of ego or "I can kill you with my pinky pal!" vibe at all. I totally admired the guy.

Styles like karate,kung fu, tae kwon do, aikido, tai chi,etc are based more on tradition. Call me what you want despite my experience in martial arts but we all still have the right to our own opinion when it comes down to it.

@shadetyped Good to know, I had no idea that Chuck Norris was a black belt in BJJ, I knew he was in karate.However neither one of those arts are good on their own or together, since karate is of no use other than in point sparring. To make BJJ more complete it needs to be mixed with other styles such as muay thai,boxing, and judo too could help,etc., making it a MMA otherwise it's of no use.

@bloodriotiori Funny you say that considering I've done martial arts for a little over 20 yrs. I've did 12yrs. of Goju Ryu Karate Do, 7 yrs. of MMA, and learnt alot more in MMA in such a short time than I did in so many years of Karate. I now do Judo.
I'm not saying karate is something no one should take. It all depends on why you take it. Don't expect much if you're doing it for self-defense reasons. When I did karate I thought I was all that but then I realized other styles were much better.
@asoka2000 and that's fine. I have had plenty of experiences where i've had to use my shotokan training, and i'm not talking about in a controlled environment with a ref to save my ass when shit got nasty, and i've come out on top every single time. I train mma as well, but it does not deter me from knowing that what i learned in my shotokan training is very valuable and very useful. The very fact you think any style is better than anything else makes me doubt your posts.

@plutoend99 indeed he was...if you access the television feature of safehouses and flick through the channels you will come across a segment called "The mens corner:with Bas and Jeremy"....bas voices himself and plays the part of a overly-aggressive psychopath...In my opinion its really funny...Bas' name is also in the credits part of the booklet you get with the game

@shadetyped Good to know, I had no idea that Chuck Norris was a black belt in BJJ, I knew he was in karate.However neither one of those arts are good on their own or together, since karate is of no use other than in point sparring. To make BJJ more complete it needs to be mixed with other styles such as muay thai,boxing, and judo too could help,etc., making it a MMA otherwise it's of no use.

@bloodriotiori Funny you say that considering I've done martial arts for a little over 20 yrs. I've did 12yrs. of Goju Ryu Karate Do, 7 yrs. of MMA, and learnt alot more in MMA in such a short time than I did in so many years of Karate. I now do Judo.
I'm not saying karate is something no one should take. It all depends on why you take it. Don't expect much if you're doing it for self-defense reasons. When I did karate I thought I was all that but then I realized other styles were much better.

@asoka2000 and that's fine. I have had plenty of experiences where i've had to use my shotokan training, and i'm not talking about in a controlled environment with a ref to save my ass when shit got nasty, and i've come out on top every single time. I train mma as well, but it does not deter me from knowing that what i learned in my shotokan training is very valuable and very useful. The very fact you think any style is better than anything else makes me doubt your posts.
