Even jobs requiring a degree are hard to come by, if you're lucky enough to get to college in the ghetto. Get some decent jobs back to attack the problem.
I know I'm making a stupid suggestion here, but if some sort of good paying job base could be introduced to Detroit, perhaps that city would see some regeneration. Without it, you see the social ills that befall the remaining residents, with younger people seeing no future or opportunities except to leave (if they can) or engage in illegal activity which is lucrative, unfortunately.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my site and posting your comments. There is still quite a bit of work that needs to be done Downtown however, this needs to be balanced with the work that needs to be done in the surrounding neighborhoods. Detroit has a vast amount of financial resources and if used wisely, we can accomplish both. Douglas
