Yawn ! This man has no name. This man has no identity. This man has no relatives. This man has no social security number. This man has no known address. This man isn't moving. This man has been lying motionles for days. This man is DEAD ! Dead as a doornail.
Sad to know that this documentary is the only glimpse of the man's belongings, and clothing, since all of the evidence was lost. As far as the dental records, it's not all that remarkable that his dental records didn't match since this was shortly after the war, and many places in Europe were bombed, and records of all sorts were missing.
Those dumbass australian cops should have never let that nurse go like that. She was the key to the hole thing. If this happened now a days the cops would have investigated the shit out of her. Elementary my dear Watson
the Rubaiyat is the key. It is such a rare book, connected to such a bizarre case, and there is not just one copy, but three copies of the same extremely rare book connected to this case. The appearance of the book with Boxall, The unidentified man, and the Singaporean man named Joseph Marshall, must be pertinent somehow. I am not ruling out time travel. Seriously, T.T. wouldn't be the strangest aspect of this case
The spooky thing for me is the fact that they saw the man move his arm whilst laying against the seawall. If that it is the case, he was surely alive, and possibly trying to get the attention of someone walking by. This could have been the deciding factor of this baffling case.
@ruffian1868 Agreed. The way they depict it in the reenactment, it looks like he's using his last bit of strength to attract their attention. If this was the case, maybe he was walking along the beach when he suddenly collapsed, as a result of the poison taking effect. He wasn't quite dead or even unconscious when he saw the couple and raised his arm to call them over for help.
1. Isn't it peculiar that the same book occurs several times connected to the woman called Jestyn?
2. The police apparently just wrote her off without question her any further. Also strange.
3. Later evidence shows that her son shares several striking diversions that very few (some 2% of the population) have. They share 2 of them. Ears and a genetic anomaly.
4. Why go through all the trouble erasing all identifiable markings and then just toss away a book that quite logically will be found?
Am I the only one who thinks that the Somerton Man was totally a time traveller? It would explain why his dental records didn't match that of any existing person, and he was probably killed by some kind of futuristic poison that hasn't been discovered yet.
@RawrFunkyLlama8 So let me get this straight. They can't match his dental records and your immediate thought is "He was a time traveller" Not "Only the dental records for a tiny fragment of the world's population were tested" or "This was 1948 when not everyone's dental records were on file" no no, the most logical conclusion after them not finding his dental records is clearly "he was a time traveller". I worry about mankind sometimes.
@RawrFunkyLlama8 Fair enough then, my apologies. In fairness though, you have to admit far crazier stuff has been posted on youtube in all seriousness :)
I wish someone would write a book about this case, this short background history on the area etc like this documentary gives. Not sure how much could possibly be said about the case though...

The asynchronicity of the stereo channels makes this story even weirder.
