I've been making a blanket using the entrelac technique. I've been using several different colors... and I'm not sure that I'm weaving in my ends very well/properly. I've been doing it as I go. Not sure if it'd be better to weave them all in after I'm done with my project... Do you have a video for doing so? Any suggestions? Thanks!
@uschi1936 You will insert the hook below another loop, close to the one you just made. If you put it in the same one, it won't work so you just need to go below another loop.
I remember I wanted to learn how to crochet; you were the first one to teach me it. I hated that you crochet so fast, by hey: I learned from your teachings anyway! Hehe. Nice tutorials. Thank you!
Well, you still do crochet fast, but I think what made it seem faster was that I had NO idea what you were doing the whole time! Now I can understand what you're doing and can keep up with my eyes, if that makes sense. :)
I am very confused by afghans, Say I have 400 stitches for a big blanket... how do I fit them all on my hook? I am not saying I want 400 stitches, but what if?? How would I fit it all on?? I don't understand.
I have learnt so much from you and am so grateful for your videos. x
Very nice videos. I learned crochect when I was about twelve years old, but only the basics. Now I want to do an afhan for my daughter so I am trying to make my mind between regular crochet and tunisian style crochet. Is this single tunisian crochet? Which one has more elasticity the single one or the knit tunisian crochet?
im sorry i have a Q .... i made like 1 year ago a scarf but on one side is white and the other side is purple!! with tunisian knight.... BUT I FORGOT how to do it!!.. i cant remember when i have to switch the hook?... it has 2 hook and is longer...
I would like to make a large afgan. I dont understand how to chain 124 on the 18" needle. Is there a trick, do i have to complete the project in stages? All I can get on the afgan hook is about 50 stitches. I would appreciate your response.
Two questions. First, can you change colors in the middle of a row? If so, can you post a video of it? Second, do you have a vidoe already posted on edging the tunisian stitch? Sorry I ask so many questions!!
I want to use this stitch for a 8 inch granny square. What size hook and how many chains would it take? I am a beginner and I love to cross stitch as well and wanted to try this. You are just wonderful!
This is a size P crochet hook I believe. This hook is not the typical hook used for the wider tunisian. The standard crochet hooks do work well for smaller projects.
You are sooo good crocheting!! I have a question... do you think this stitch can be done in rounds? like for leg warmers? thanks for all your videos! you rock lady!!
I love this stitch and use it quite often but I hate the way it curls on the start and finish edges. Do you have any ideas to remedy that curling effect?
The curl happens to everyone. You can do an edging once it is finished which may reduce the curl. There is not anything you can do while you are making it.
i have seen many of your crochet video. i like all the videos.......but how can i use this patterns to knitt the baby frock or jacket..........can u help me with that ?
This video was made in the middle of July so I probably had fans and the air conditioner running. The crochet hook squeaks every now and then. I don't know what sound rubber makes.
The camera work is excellent, congratulations. Many crafts people film not from their own point of view but from across. I'd like to know how you kept the camera in place while doing this?
I have been doing this stitch for a few months and love it. What I don't understand is how you do the final stitch at the end of the row. What 2 loops are you going through? The ends of my rows just don't look nice and neat. What is the better way
If you watch at time code 2:16, you will see a loop to the right of the single loop where I am describing the single loop that I used to go through . You can also click on the HQ for high quality and click on full screen. That may help you see it better. The loop is towards the backside of the work. If you pull on the loop a little bit, you should see it move since it makes up part of the single loop you would go through.
how do you change colors in the middle instead of just on the ends. I want to make an afghan with a picture and i'm gonna have to do that but I have no Idea how. HELP PLEASE!!! lol
thanx, my husband just purchased me one. It is a size I 5.5. It seems to be a bit small. Is that okay???I've been practicing but the stitches are very tight.
i'm so new to this, and i think i'm getting how to change the colors! except i hate that huge hook you use, and i don't get how/why you would put all stitches on the hook itself and then take them off. maybe it's a trick i don't already know?
The hook I am using is just a standard size, large crochet hook with a rubber band at the end. It is the same hook I used with the slow motion tutorial. When I am not making a large project, it is easier to use a smaller hook so I just use a rubber band at the end to keep the yarn from coming off.
Thanks for putting this up, I love watching your videos so much, you make everything look so easy. But I wanted to ask if you know how to change colors in the middle of the row of the Tunisian? Thanks, cant wait til the next video
You are welcome. There are different ways to do the tunisian crochet. It is a really pretty stitch. I never mastered knitting so this is the closest I have come to knitting.
i want to thank you so much for posting videos of crochet on youtube..i watch ur videos all da time..they really help me and its nice to know theres someone out there who cares and enjoys it as well.
Tunisian? I will have to put that on my list of things to learn. I am currently trying to learn fillet. This honestly looks like knitting but with one needle lol.

@tjw1963 How do you do the border for the entrelac stitch/pattern? (I'm making a baby afghan...)
kemperman07 5 months ago
@kemperman07 The last row you will make a single crochet. You can make a single crochet all the way around and then add any type of border

@xiragata Yes, this is Tunisian. The single crochet will probably stretch more than the Tunisian.

I'm just wondering why you changed the colour on that side.
I always change on the other side so the vertical stripes would be of a different colour. It's prettier that way, don't you think?

You are welcome to change color how ever you would like to.

I think the noise is from your crochet hook cause it gives your hook sliding through the thread a sound affect. ^____^

You will hear a lot of that sound in almost every video.

Thank you very much

Wal-mart, Michaels, Joann Fabric and Crafts, Herrschners.

I live in Canada... I looked at all the stores you listed. None of them have it...
Even looked at their website...
I am going to make my own out of a branch of something...

squeek squeek squeek goes the yarn! :O)
How do I change colors in the middle of the blanket like if I do a picture?
Also, is it just me or are you useing a short afgahn hook? I thought I saw the blocked end peeking a couple of times.
