Shubh Maharaj is awesome. Amjad Ali really has no clue about fractional taalas. I don't know why he even attempts them and then beats around the bush. Then he resorts to playing a bunch of memorized tihais and making the deluded hippies drool.
Though there are artists out there who are really good at laykari I think you are a bit harsh on Ustad-ji in your comments. If you want real complex laykari listen to Vikash Maharaj. He is very active gloabally, these days.
dude, you have some problem with amjad ali khan sahib it seems. you go around abusing him in every video. even if he did not know jackshit about sarod, he is still a a fantastic realized human being. beyond that, i think he is a fantastic sarod player, certainly the best sarodiya i have heard.
Amjad Ali Khan sahib knows all there it to know about sarod playing. I'm sure he also knows exponentially more than me about raga Maru Bihag. Unfortunately, he doesn't show all of that here, does he?

Amjad Ali Khan is SO great. I'm am especially in love with the collabs he did with Suchitra Mitra (music of Togor)....highly recommended stuff.
