Everyone's relating this to WOW and you all gotta think when WOW came out it was just as buggy and had a shit load wrong with it too at launch, they perfected over the years to make it the game it is ( or was I should say since I think WOW started going downhill in cat) I think SWTOR has alot of potential but of course it will take some time bc there are lots of problems but they can be fixed an are getting fixed within months. My self,hated leveling also.NPC are passive,standing around and doing nothing,every NPC fight's do the end (in WoW they will run away and get help) tanking in this game is a joke,you don't have to think how to do your pull's,there is no need for any strategy...Hate fact that EVERY class has companion???? you realize you are comparing SWTOR months from release to a game that has had YEARS to polish, did you play WoW at release? I know I did and it had WAY WAY WAY more bugs than SWTOR at release. Balance and new abilities will come in time, Ice Block, Pain suppresion, ect were not available in WoW when it came out. Your opinion while I say valid is misguided from the reality of the stage both games are in.
oh and there are classes that have nether a pull nor a push like my jedi knight i play i have some useless skills i cant even use in pvp cuz i need to stun the enenmy and hey guess what i have one stun ability vs player and while i do that skil i cant do anything else :P

I quit lotro to play swtor, in game type ( /played) when i di it showed me having 15 days 4 hrs total game play. Heres the problem. I have 2 lvl 50 toons, fully pvp geared, tons of credits, and both are max crafting. WAY TO EASY. I like a challenge, and this game offers none. Any noob can achieve max gear in a matter of days, and the rest of the time, you wait for a q in huttball.pvp is broken, and cannot be patched. the truth hurts, but its the truth none the less
It's more of an...adventure game to be honest man. It's not a GRIND GRIND GRIND game. BioWare said they weren't making it for those type of people. They were making it towards the old school rpgers and more casual people that enjoy and great story along with bonding with their characters. They delivered on EXACTLY what they said.

It's a young game. A LOT of kinks are getting ironed out and they are giving us patches very fast that fix a lot of things for many people. For some...Ilum sucks...for me, it's fun as hell because I stay in cracks and pop up with my sniper and just level people lol. It's PEOPLE not the devs that need to start playing better and not take advantage of the crap and play like shit. Ilum got said it sucked because one guy started it and...it just went on others saying it :(
i only really play it because most of my guild has switched from wow to this...so if i want to raid with my friends i need to do it in swtor...still play wow tho.

ok, so... 30 minutes to say that there are some lag areas and that healer class isn't as good as on WoW. Meanwhile, I enjoy hunter classes and this is the best game I've ever played for that class.

The truth of the matter is that World Of Warcraft is going to be better than Star Wars for a long time. If you go back to WoW's roots it was the same way when it first came out. You will have to give this game time to be as good as WoW because it hasnt had the time WoW has to get better. This game has its flaws I will agree with that as well as a lot of the points you made. Hopefully as Bioware continues to learn how to make a succesful MMO this will get better just like WoW did.

The main things you talked about were how shitty the UI is and stuff but I have a high threshold for bullshit so I tolerated all that jackshit for 2 months. After the patch yesterday, SoA is STILL bugged like a mofo, mirrored classes not being mirrored still being ignored, Ilum republic turrets still not spawning correctly.
imagine this: you decide to start playing wow, and think hey im gonna pvp and then when you get in you get fucked from behind by everyone in BoA gear in like 2 hits and its so unfair. unlike in tor there is no fucking BoA gear.
7 years of 'maturing' won't do SWTOR any good, it needs a complete rehaul. The game world is so dead, the maps are awful, there's nothing to explore, crafting is worthless, leveling is way too easy, and the game design is fundamentally flawed. I wanted this game to be awesome but it's not. It's a boring mess.
Some of these issues have been fixed, some others and some different bugs that you didn't touch (or encounter) will hopefully be fixed soon. That being said on my mercenary it took me a short while to get full pvp gear for both the healing and the dps sets. I cannot really say that it is enjoyable for me though on that character since the server I'm in is dominated by Imperials which lead to 1000 Huttball matches before anything else pops.

From the look of you, I'm guessing you aren't an MMO veteran. By MMO veteran, I mean have played an MMO not named WoW for a significant amount of time. Most MMO's need major patching at launch. Hell, WoW had to completely redo how their questing and game worked because they tried to out-EQ EQ and failed at doing it. Honestly, TOR has out-WoW'ed WoW so far, and things are only looking up. I loved WoW, but having played both at launch, TOR is lightyears ahead of where WoW was.

Also, at 26:20, when you were talking about how long it takes to get a 2h weapon, I know you said you ignored queue times, but I do not think you should have as warzones only happen about once a week on my server at level 50.
PvP in terms of 1 vs 1 in this game is actually pretty well balanced.
What pisses me off is Voidstar. Come on! The defending team always wins. The 8 second click to arm a bomb which can be interrupted by any damage is just stupid.
I did Voidstar, was on the defending team, we never let the republic get through first gate in first round. Then came round 2. We did not get past the first gate.
Both teams had good players (unlike most matches with 80% of the players being complete noobs).
All I hear is Q.Q and comparisons to WoW to do which is like expecting a baby to know as much as a 7 year old stop bringing down good mmo's just because they aren't as much of a master piece as WoW

Sure, I agree to some extent that SWTOR doesn't have the complexity that WoW now has, but then again; WoW wasn't all that complex in Vanilla either. Nor bug free (ROFL, so not bug free).

I quit swtor about 2 weeks ago and resubbed to WoW. The game has alot of potential, but hasn't lived up to it yet. I'm a smuggler on the crucible pits, we were overpowered as crap before, now we're garbage. I tried healing and hated it. I like healing, but not that class's healing. I tried rerolling, couldn't be fucked because it takes a year to level up. This game made me appreciate wow again, and re-sub when I'd said I'd never come back.

I would make one point, Artifact Gear (regardless of where or when you get it) once you remove all the components have identical stats... and reaching level 50 with each class would take approx. 960 hrs (40 days) which can all be done co-operatively

@informthis He has every right to do so. Swtor has been in development alongside the progression of WoW over these past few years. If anything, Swtor should be compared to the current WoW and not a game that was released 8 years ago with bugs. It's Bioware's responsibility to learn and adapt to changes being made in current mmo's, so that they can improve upon these aspects. It's 2012, not 2004. If Bioware can't compete with a game that was released in 04, then that is pathetic.

SW:TOR is a terribly designed right now. However, I do believe it has potential. It just needs to change its play style. Sacredheals, I agree with you about the PvP at max level in SW:TOR. It's bland.

Sounds like you picked your class poorly. Perhaps viewing of class play prior to character creation would help. Coding patches, game maturation and patience will probably cover all the other stuff.

1st, Merc healers suck!! I completely agree... everything else...you're an idiot! NO MMO is perfect within 2 months of launch. None!! And WoW was certainly no exception. It was horrid at launch and took a long time to get playable. This game however rocks till level 50 and has huge potential if they make some fixes for PvP and end-game content. I played a Merc healer to 50 then re-specced to DPS. Much better now and frankly DPS is always needed for heroic missions anyway.
1) current Merc healing is WTF boring atm in PvP due to reason mentioned/shown in this video, no one will be able to convince me or few other people otherwise, its like saying that the Earth is flat and made in 7 days. You should deffo go for a sorcerer healer if you like healing in PvP (can be done in less than 3 days played if you push it)
2) Your gear is not where it should be yet, you need fully remodded champ/rakata gear to judge endgame (have 2k ops. (raid) buffed Aim atm)

I quit lotro to play swtor, in game type ( /played) when i di it showed me having 15 days 4 hrs total game play. Heres the problem. I have 2 lvl 50 toons, fully pvp geared, tons of credits, and both are max crafting. WAY TO EASY. I like a challenge, and this game offers none. It's a young game. A LOT of kinks are getting ironed out and they are giving us patches very fast that fix a lot of things for many people. For some...Ilum sucks...for me, it's fun as hell because I stay in cracks and pop up with my sniper and just level people lol. It's PEOPLE not the devs that need to start playing better and not take advantage of the crap and play like shit. The truth of the matter is that World Of Warcraft is going to be better than Star Wars for a long time. If you go back to WoW's roots it was the same way when it first came out. You will have to give this game time to be as good as WoW because it hasnt had the time WoW has to get better. This game has its flaws I will agree with that as well as a lot of the points you made. Some of these issues have been fixed, some others and some different bugs that you didn't touch (or encounter) will hopefully be fixed soon. That being said on my mercenary it took me a short while to get full pvp gear for both the healing and the dps sets. I cannot really say that it is enjoyable for me though on that character since the server I'm in is dominated by Imperials which lead to 1000 Huttball matches before anything else pops.

From the look of you, I'm guessing you aren't an MMO veteran. By MMO veteran, I mean have played an MMO not named WoW for a significant amount of time. Most MMO's need major patching at launch. Hell, WoW had to completely redo how their questing and game worked because they tried to out-EQ EQ and failed at doing it. Honestly, TOR has out-WoW'ed WoW so far, and things are only looking up. PvP in terms of 1 vs 1 in this game is actually pretty well balanced.
What pisses me off is Voidstar. Come on! The defending team always wins. The 8 second click to arm a bomb which can be interrupted by any damage is just stupid.
I did Voidstar, was on the defending team, we never let the republic get through first gate in first round. Then came round 2. We did not get past the first gate.
Both teams had good players (unlike most matches with 80% of the players being complete noobs).

Sure, I agree to some extent that SWTOR doesn't have the complexity that WoW now has, but then again; WoW wasn't all that complex in Vanilla either. Nor bug free (ROFL, so not bug free).
And while you could argue that programming has reached greater altitudes there's always going to be unforseen consequences of releasing a game.
You have to give games time to mature, which I'm pretty certain SWTOR will given the open conversation they're having with it's subscribers.

I quit swtor about 2 weeks ago and resubbed to WoW. The game has alot of potential, but hasn't lived up to it yet. I'm a smuggler on the crucible pits, we were overpowered as crap before, now we're garbage. I tried healing and hated it. I like healing, but not that class's healing. I tried rerolling, couldn't be fucked because it takes a year to level up. This game made me appreciate wow again, and re-sub when I'd said I'd never come back.

I would make one point, Artifact Gear (regardless of where or when you get it) once you remove all the components have identical stats... and reaching level 50 with each class would take approx. 960 hrs (40 days) which can all be done co-operatively

@informthis He has every right to do so. Swtor has been in development alongside the progression of WoW over these past few years. If anything, Swtor should be compared to the current WoW and not a game that was released 8 years ago with bugs. It's Bioware's responsibility to learn and adapt to changes being made in current mmo's, so that they can improve upon these aspects. It's 2012, not 2004. If Bioware can't compete with a game that was released in 04, then that is pathetic.

haha. I know how you feel about knockbacks. Imo though, that's a really fun part for me... Imbuing unlimited frustration upon others with my OP knockbacks and mobility. I also get to pull teammates who get knocked off back up =P.
Anyway, I agree with you, but at the same time, I feel like you're those on the receiving end, which is why you're displeased, while I have a blast dishing out the pain.

SW:TOR is a terribly designed right now. However, I do believe it has potential. It just needs to change its play style. Sacredheals, I agree with you about the PvP at max level in SW:TOR. It's bland.

u are constantly comparing to wow...ur comparing apples and oranges...both fruit... but tastes differently.... go back to a 'polished' game where bugs allow u to be invincible, filled wth exploiters,accounthackers, and botters...not to mention that fuckin panda's will run around in stormwind and ogrimmar...u just get owned in pvp there so much that ur raging.

1st, Merc healers suck!! I completely agree... everything else...you're an idiot! NO MMO is perfect within 2 months of launch. None!! And WoW was certainly no exception. It was horrid at launch and took a long time to get playable. This game however rocks till level 50 and has huge potential if they make some fixes for PvP and end-game content. I played a Merc healer to 50 then re-specced to DPS. Much better now and frankly DPS is always needed for heroic missions anyway.

1) current Merc healing is WTF boring atm in PvP due to reason mentioned/shown in this video, no one will be able to convince me or few other people otherwise, its like saying that the Earth is flat and made in 7 days. You should deffo go for a sorcerer healer if you like healing in PvP (can be done in less than 3 days played if you push it)
2) Your gear is not where it should be yet, you need fully remodded champ/rakata gear to judge endgame (have 2k ops. (raid) buffed Aim atm)

Awesome reaons for quitting and not liking the game. This video is good and you should link to it at swtor.com you represent thousand of players. Ive played both WoW and mmo's before and after including SWTOR which Im currently playing and I dont consider myself a particular fanboy of any game and properly is a high maintenance player/gamer like many others who dont like bad or shitty games for whatever reason or just personal preference.
