Fun to watch.I remember my first and only silver-dime i found was the other day and im still jumping.I havent gone back yet because the wife has been home but the next shopping day im back at it looking for that next dime!Thank you for showing the things u found you made it fun to go along with u .Make more of your finds and i will be watching,,THANKS Brother detecterxxxx
try diging along the fence line where people sit in the grass, in a fair gounds i found four mercury dines all the same date all in the same hole all were 1916 in VF or better shape one got scrached with my proble i gave it away each coin has a value of arounf $400 acording to my very old coin book, it was the best i had ever did with a detector, the coins was 18 inches under the ground, took 20 minute to dig them up,
I am really interested in this field and have viewed hundreds of these videos in order to get a feel for the effort needed and the technique necessary to be somewhat successful at it however, why haven't any of these detectorists thought of having a soft bristled toothbrush with them to help remove the soil from their find? Water is not always present but a brush can quickly remove surfaced soil to let you see what you have found faster. Even the dreaded archeologists use brushes to remove soil.
@Keith1212ofxbox360 Thank you for your reply. I wasn't expecting the toothbrush to get the found piece ready for a trade show, just enough abrasion to knock the dirt away faster and with less chance to further mar the finish. What are we talking about in additional time, 6.28 seconds?
Cool. Isn't hunting great! I can tell you every detail of the first silver I found. (but I'll spare you) It was a a merc dime as well. I did a quick chicken dance! Thanks for the video.
Congrats on your first silver. I found my first silver this spring and it, too, was a 1944 Mercury dime. Your surprise and excitement over your find reminded me of my own.
Your videos are terrific; looking forward to seeing more.
Awesome find DG , I remember my very first silver coin, and I was like you near heart stopping, but I took a moment and did what we call at our Detecting Club Website TreasureQuest, and I did the happy dance. lol I was so excited. Congratz on your great find, there'll be more to come bro.
