To be honest, though the storage has annoyed me, I kinda like it too. makes me have to actually use more than one chest, gives me a reason to have drawers and a chest in the libary/alchemy lab. as it is, I have my weapons in the chest shown, my armor to the left, my vanity clothes in a drawer next to the bed, food in the pantry, drinks in the barrel under the stairs, books and scrolls on the chest on the bookshelf, etc. makes it more realistic, gives you that "now where did I leave my keys" feel
@faboolusbacon no, I played 4 hours with the default UI and about 100 with SkyUI and another UI mod that moved the categories to the top of the screen to make it more manageable. I still had those "I wanna slowly strangle the UI designer" moments every time I had to interact with my storage chests. I only said I hated the UI, not the game itself.
The argument "You can get mods for it" is invalid. You shouldn't have to mod a games interface, simply because the developers made a shitty one. 23 seconds is a retarded amount of time to scroll down to the bottom. Morrowind is 10 years older than this game, and it's UI is superior in almost every way. You can have a ton of items in a chest or inventory with little problem finding them. Sure it wasn't perfect, and didn't have 3d models, but its better than this one.
So much potential for this game, and yet so much wrong with it, mainly the UI. I welcome any haters who are ging to defend it for some stupid reason. "Oh it's so big and pretty it's allowed to have game-breaking bugs."
I am fine with bugs really, some of them. The UI decisions though OMG. People will still talk about how amazingly real and immersive it is. Yea, having to pause 8 timmes for a 45 seconds battle with a dragon is really immersive. And I don;t even want to hear any PC vs console BS
DAMNIT R U SERIOUS?!? U MEAN U HAVE TO WAIT 23 DAMN SECONDS TO FIND SOMETHING? AND U MEAN TO TELL ME YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO READ THROUGH SHIT TO FIND IT? sarcasm. wtf is wrong with people these days? the shit is in alphabetical order u lazy asshole n if u dont like it get a ui mod dont make stupid ass videos complaining about dumb shit.
@MrJackiesUtube Please refrain from insulting people just because your personal opinion somehow differs. In fact, please don't comment on any of my uploads anymore. Here, I'll even help you with that *BLOCK*
@antanur21 O.o How is a poorly designed interface my fault? I didn't make it. What if I don't like keeping items all around my house? What if I feel like keeping everything together? The least they could do is add an ability to sort by name/weight/value. What if I want to compare several items to each other? They could also incorporate decent mouse support. You know, that device most PC gamers prefer over a crappy controller? Great game, horrible UI. But that's only my opinion.
Just organize your shit in separate boxes. That chest doesn't store items in alphabetical order anyway. If you had a scroll bar it would still take you all day to find what you wanted.
@austincm18 The items are sorted, just in a backwards way - they are divided into categories and then alphabetized within those. I'm separating the shit across different containers, so a scrollbar in those (especially Ingredients, Misc and Potions) would actually be more useful than in a huge pile.
THIS IS TO EVERYONE HERE!!! If you don't like the UI, Mod it!! There's a great mod called SkyUI that redoes the ui and makes it searchable, more mouse-friendly, and is really easy to install!
@ImmoSci Like I said - it only mods your inventory at it's current stage. Chests, magic and skills are still the same. It's nice to have it, but it's not a panacea.
@bytemeah mm good point, but in the future I hope that they will add the Magic menu and Chests. IMO, the Skills menu is developed enough, and is easy to use as is.
@bytemeah There is a mod called SkyUI, which makes it more PC friendly. Keyword searchable items, more view per page, optimised tab view and customisable appearance. Combined with Better Sorting mod, the Skyrim UI becomes a dream...
@Nucleus9000 I already did, but it only reworks your inventory screen. Container interaction, skills and magic menus are still the same - you still scroll a lot.
seriously i waited 5 months for this game and i got nothing but disapointment. there were way too many proplems with the game that i could make a rant about it.
@skyrimawaits How this game improved on every aspect of oblivion this game makes oblivion look like trash. And there is far less bugs then oblivion and fallout 3 had one they first came out. There is basically nothing to be let down about other then some short quest lines. I just don't know how you could hate this game and i think you are the first person i have seen that plain out hates oblivion.
@skyrimawaits Sorry i mint Skyrim typo :/ give it some more time this game is amazing and the UI is not that bad i have had 0 problems with it. My favorite Character is my pure archer the bow is so much fun to use it is so satisfying to clear a hole room with out any one ever noticing. Just find a dark corner with a good vantage point and fire away. And the controls suck? I don't understand that they seem perfectly fine to me.
@darkpassenger09 Here's a better one, two even. 1. Stop being a douche; 2. Watch carefully around 1:27 as I hit "APPAREL" square on and it still closes. The fact that it closes the container altogether instead of taking no action when you slightly miss an option is, at the very least, an oversight. I'd even go as far as calling it laziness as mouse support throughout the whole game was just atrocious
Too much needless scrolling. There's a huge space to the right that could've been used. Instead, there's a pointless 3D model of each object. Why can't I separate the weapon classes? Why aren't my equipped items automatically transported to the top. Don't get me started on the skills section. There's so many, many things wrong with the UI. Still a really fun game, epic as hell. But yeah, throw that UI designer into a bottomless pit.
@TheTako400 Money is pretty easy to come by in Skyrim, so don't worry. You actually stop counting after a while.
Oh, and there's an achievement for accumulating 100k ;)
@NeutralExistence Whether it's an improvement or not is a matter of personal preference and you'll get no argument there. However. Objectively, it was made with controller in mind, KB/Mouse option was just a late afterthought. Far too many people have issues with it not acting as it should - from the illustrated miss/close bug to mouse not working at all in some cases (I had this too a couple of times). What irks me most is the lack of a simple scrollbar - I spend way too much time scrolling.
use the arrow with scroll

Yeah, the chests are horrible. They were like that in Oblivion but it never bothered me. Here, I just pick chests for different items.
Athena032 1 month ago
you can probably use the other chests around your house and sort out the items... other than that i agree the ui needs to be worked on.

1. use potions :D whats the point of collecting them ? (sell those which you dont use, and carry others)
2. ingredients put in your alchemist table (in your home theres small spot to put evrything)
3. whats the point of collecting some weapons and armor if you dont use them ?(okay maybe 1 bow, 1 staff or shield but not evy single item :D)
4. and i think theres mode who help organise your items
