I think it's insane for someone to buy something just for the same of having it. We all do blind buys to check a movie out and personally I like to get my movies at a low cost. If its a steelbook edition of a movie I love then that's just a bonus.
end of the day its your money, your not hurting anyone but it is good to hear what they think about the movie themselves. You go into great detail in your videos so you shouldn't worry.
Thanks for the response. I never said that Steelbooks are the worst packaging ever, I said they are the worst things to come out in terms of a movie release, as they bring out the worst in people. To many are just buying them, keeping them sealed and hoarding them and people who really want to the actual movie to enjoy are missing out. And I never said I want more people to do reviews, I said that no one seems to talk about movies in certain vids. It's not hard to say abit about the movie.
Yeah, I believe that the steelbook comment cause the most out roar for most of the responses. Still, I think any edition of a film steelbook or non steelbook kinda brings the worst out of a person if they still have it plastic. Some cases people put their cases in plastic protection to prevent dents.
@TylerPreston20 ... It sure did and I could of worded it better. Just feel that so many care abit to much about steelbooks and only get the movie, cause its in steelbook and everyone knows that steelbooks become rare quickly and it just makes people greedy, they buy them, keep them sealed and sell them off later and other people who genuinely want the steelbook for watching the movie, miss out. I like steelbooks, but would never buy a movie I had no interest in just cause its a steelbook.
Nice response video - Tyler - I see your points and agree. I made my response to Andrew's video because while I feel he has a point - he isn't totally right - you tube is made up of all different types of channels and you can pretty much find what you want to see. Andrew is still a great guy - we just disagree on this issue.
Thanks. I like some of his points, but disagree with some of them if that makes any sense, to flat out say that steelbooks are the worst packaging ever, I really disagree about but the points, commenting back, I do agree.
I think everyone on YT has their own style of reviewing and collecting, and to say that someone needs to do something a certain way its stupid. If everyone did everything the same what fun would YT be? I agree with people not replying back. That is rather annoying to go and watch a persons video and bother to leave a comment they should get a reply back. I understand though people are busy, and you always reply to everyone, especially the people get get so much of they'd have to live on here lol
when it comes to packaging i hate those little snap things on the side of the regular cases like some of the disney films on dvd have i just wanna open it normal not have to open flaps lol ughhh and guys i hate all the stickers and stuff they put all over the boxes some of those ruin the packaging if you try and take them off lol just saying lol
worst packaging? for me it has to be the cardboard 'snapper' cases, those things are horrible, thankfully I dont own many, they used to be a favourite of Warner, but thankfully they stopped using them long before Bluray came around. Most of my Bluray collection is either in a steelbook, or some kind of slipcase/slipbox I dont have a huge amount of plain amaray cases, is it all about the packaging? no, its the movie BUT I like to own nice versions of the films I like, and I do like the steelbooks
Same, I like owning nice editions of movies I like, and I think that's the biggest flaw of Andrew's argument, but to go far to say that steelbooks are the worst packaging ever is crazy. As shown in my videos, I've displayed many editions I have with awful packaging. =d
@TylerPreston20 Andrew raised some interesting points though, and its started a very interesting debate, I commented in his video that I both agree and disagree with his points, I do agree that there are folks out there who are buying editions just to 'show off' or for the wrong reason, Ive never understood people who buy a film they dont like just because its in nice packaging, like he said, it sometimes stops a 'real' fan from owning the edition they want as they are all bought by 'collectors'
So made a response vid rendering now! Cool vid man

Yeah, it's insane indeed. Each film I get, I either seen it or have some interest in it before buying.

I hate those as well! Besides the snap cases, I also hate over-lapping discs. Steelbooks are far from the worst packaging ever. =d
