Brilliant synth, definitely has it's own sonic signature but it's a shame it lacks the audio input which the micro q has. Even though this german review made almost no sense to me I still say big thumbs up for the outstanding deutsch synth engineers

Zu aller erst mal wieder ein Kompliment an musotalk, so stell ich

mir einen guten unparteiischen Test vor.

Was den Preis angeht 1000; DM ist

kein Pappenstiel und ich würde doch mal

trotz des Gehäuses aus Metall und den geilen

Nippeln zu schrauben, schauen was andere Freudenhäuser so zu bieten haben.

Im Prinzip habe ich jetzt nicht viel mehr oder weniger gehört was andere Synthesizer auch zu bieten haben.

go to the waldorf site and download the updated verison of the patches, all the volumes are now correct there are also some new user patches in the soundset.

go to waldorf site then go into archive click on blofeld, then sounds and download the new factory sounds dated 11/01/2008. sorted!

He does seem unfamiliar with synths, but I think he is still doing a good job. I like the way he happily shows off the package, and that he seems to be very calm and carefull. I wana cheer him up :)

the different sounds had very different volume. Otherwise it sounded aggressive just like the other Waldorf Synths. Perfect for techno I would guess.

Yeah, those are definitely some old-school techno bass sounds. Seems like a waste of the synth engine, making a bunch of canned sounds we've all heard a thousand times.

I allways end up making my own patches on my synths. I would've bought the blofeld if it didnt have global effects.

Bad presets is a problem on many synths I guess.

Oh well, I vote fail on this one as the Micro Q's really not that exciting for a VA and the half of this synth that's a MicroWave is still missing the features that we want from the old MicroWaves. No speech synthesis. Can't edit your own wavetables. Can't analyze samples to import your own waves. It just seems like Waldorf could have done a lot better for their big 'come back' synth.

True. But you can buy Blofeld at a lower price then microQ actually. I think the big comeback synth will be Stromberg. It's supposed to have everything that all the previous waldorf synths had.

I'd agree, but Stromberg has disappeared from the face of the earth. I don't think Waldorf is going to last much longer at the rate they're going.
