  • Snow in August?

  • wish i lived there

  • O.O

  • Seen snow at peaks in July, but never yet in August. Gorgeous place in summer and winter. Can't wait to return in 2 shoret weeks.

  • Ive seen snow in colorado in july. We tried to drive on independance pas.. and then it started snowing.

  • im goign to breckenridge this year to snowboarding with my family, were going to breck and vail! I cant wait! I might run away when were there, haha.

  • It's all about that global warming crap LOL

  • Well, I think it's more about that "living at 10,700 feet" crap!

  • i want to live thr...i love snowboarding, but i live in maryland so

  • Yes, it's a great place to live. Fantastic champagne powder skiing and snowboarding!

  • that kinda sucks to get snow in august but its kinda sweet cuz its something out of the ordinary. How cold was it that day?

  • Not too bad - maybe 50 or 60 degrees.

  • lucky...

  • Yes, very. My wife and I frequently look at our surroundings and say, "Babe, look where we live!!!"

  • man i would love that. where i live 90 degrees is cool.

  • Wow - "90 degrees is cool" - where is that? I've lived in Breckenridge since 1997 and think I might have seen 90 degrees, maybe once, maybe twice. 89 a few times. 91, never.

  • i live in Houston Texas. i would love to live in Breckenridge or an area like that. is loveland and estes park like that?

  • Estes Park is quite similar to Breckenridge, as far as scenery, and the town. Instead of a ski area, Estes Park is adjacent to Rocky Mountain National Park.

  • snow on august 17th wow , i usualy get my first snowfall in late october/early november

  • We usually get our first in early September - melts quickly. In first half of October we usually get 6-8 inches in one storm; then we're off to the races!

  • Thanks, Montana gal! You remind me how lucky I am to live here. As they say, "If you're lucky enough to live in the mountains, you're lucky enough!" We love our little town.

  • how cold was it?

  • Not too cold - As I recall, I would say it was maybe 32 degrees F or so early in the morning, then warmed up to around 50F later in the day.

  • WHoa! Crazy weather!

  • Yup. We normally get around 300 inches of snow at my location. Snow doesn't usually start until September, but statistically it could snow any day of the year - even on the 4th of July parade! It's usually sometime in November before we get snow cover that lasts until the snow melts the following May. Great place for a ski area!
