If you think about it, Peter Pan could've been Link's inspiration in terms of design, and a little bit of character and story. Both Peter and Link wear green, they both have a fairy, they're both kids, (at least young Link) they can fight, they both live in a magical world, blah blah blah, you know what I mean.
