Um, I don't know about calling China Airlines the flag carrier of Taiwan. Yes, the government of Taiwan indirectly owns the airline, but the flag of Taiwan is not on the aircrafts of China Airlines because of political pressure.
@swarnagiri602 Well, it's a long political story. Both China (People's Republic of China) and Taiwan (Republic of China) claim to be legitimate China. That's why China Airlines is called...China Airlines because it is indirectly owned by the government of Taiwan. China Eastern is partly owned by the government of China.
