  • I think for most people they cut the Calories down so much that your body is like okay.... I'm starving so I'm going to save all this..:))) But not gain either. Well for me I will stay at my 1200 calories a day and do HITTS in the AM ughhh Burpees hate to love them

  • Agh, this song would be perfect workout music!!! What's the name of this and who'd it by???

  • im at a plateau started at 212, now am at 192, i just can't seem to get past it.

  • 1. Mix up your macronutrient content, for example up your protein and lower your carbs for a week.

    2. Exercise WAY more than you have. Sneak it in when you have a down moment. Do more weights and do more cardio.

    3. WATER, WATER, WATER.

    4. Indulge in a treat once in a while.

    5. Cycle your calories.

6 Do INTENSE cardio. HIIT. Look it up.

    7. Eat breakfast an hour earlier.

    That's all I got.

  • thnx for postin, ive hit "the wall" so to speak after losing 3 stone (was 18 stone am now 15!), lol looking for some motivation to get through this platuea and get to my target weight of 14 stone. high intensity inteval training is helping as is weight training but i cant really lower my calorie intake as it averages about 1200 every day already which is damn low IMO, any ides?

  • Hey! You are welcome to look at my Motivation Vid on my page if you want...lol....OR fasting for 2 days on water may help. I've cut my cals to 500 at one point and that boosted my weght loss. :) When I did that, I up'ed my exercise time.

  • im going through the same thing!! i lost 25 pounds and my goal is to lose fifty! but this last 25 is alot harder then the first! need help!

  • Well congrats on the 25 that you lost!!! :) My goal is 70! (7 more from what I already lost, yeah, Im a fat ass, LOL). Have you tried fasting? That's what helped me go from 252 to 233! :)

  • A personal trainer at my gym made me a couple of work out routines, so I go in and do one 1 day, & then the next routine the next day. But he said if you hit a plateau with ur weight loss, the body has effectivly got used 2 the level of work out and isn;t finding it as difficult anymore, so it doesn't burn as much fat. He said 2 either up weights, use machines 4 longer or on higher settings, & change the order or ur work out.....mix it up a little, so the body has 2 get used 2 it all over again

  • Yeah!! I heard that's what happens...your body gets used to the workout. See, I was walking for 1hr everyday and doing situps and after a month, nothing was happening. I was so frustrated! I got off my diet and gained a few pounds and now I'm gonna start back up next week. Hopefully I'll be motivated, Thank you! ((hugs))

  • trying to run on an empty stomach the very first thing in the morning. Also, have have two work out sessions a day. Trying explosive weight lifting by using super sets while resting no more than 30 seconds in between. Use circuit full body work out rather than splits. Use cable machines and free weights rather than machines. Incorporate Plyometerics in your work out. Do your cardio at the end of the work out. Try to play a sport like basketball, tennis, swimming or soccer.

  • You should fast for 1-3 days, but make sure you come out of it correctly.

Contrary to common beliefs, fasting has a lot of health benfits.

  • I also know that it depends on what you're eating. You should read "You Are What You Eat" because you should change up your eating as well because if you don't,it causes food allergies. Eat a carb and a vegetable or a protein and a vegetable along with your workout regime. I'm starting today!

  • Hmmmm...I can't say what the BEST way to get over a plateau is, or even what you should do. When I hit a plateau, happened twice, I usually fast for a day or two and then become slightly more restrictive with my diet then I was before the fast. But if, as you said, you have been on point with your diet then this might not be what you need. You just might consider cutting a few more calories.

  • i can try....but I hardly eat now! LOL

  • i agree change up your workouts challenge new body parts

    try new recipes

  • Very true. I'm going to work on my arms more and continue with my crunches :)

  • I found the best way to get out of a plateau is to change up your workout routine.

Change it up, challenge yourself to a knew level and the results will keep coming.

  • You know, I've begun adding in 5lbs weights to walk with......I'm not good with jogging and can't jog very long either! But I've tried picking up on doing it to put a twist in my routine with exercising :)

  • insulin makes u strore fat, glucagon makes u burn fat.protein makes u release glucagon and carbs makes u release insulin, so in essence to burn fat and beat the plateau, you need more glucagon to supress insulin = >protein, just for 3 days.

  • That makes a TON of sense, I like that idea. :) thank you!

  • had the same problem too 2wks back. decrease the amount of insulin for three days and increase your mount of glucagon

  • it could also be that since you've lost weight you haven't changed your calorie intake. every 10 to 15 pounds we have to lessen our calorie intake because a smaller body uses fewer calories since there's less weight to move around.

also, if you lose weight too quickly you're more likely to have a plateau. slow and steady wins the race. :)

there are so many reasons behind plateaus but we can all push past them! especially by changing up your routines or sticking to your plan if you're slacking

  • You're definitely right about that! I haven't been slacking in the least bit.....which is why I don't understand why it's so steady. Now, DON'T GET ME WRONG, I'm HAPPY that it's where it is and not back up to where it WAS, lol. Just wondering why, but I HAVE read that when u lose more weight, you don't require as much energy. Thank you! :)

  • omg! i've been dreaming about chicken and asparagus for almost a week! maybe it's a sign.

i wish i could offer some advice but you already said you don't feel like fasting again.

just know that you'll get through this! we're all rooting for you!!!

  • Lol@you! Girl you crazy. :) I DON'T feel like fasting.....but I'm not missing much, so for my health, I think I will....starting tomorrow!

  • what song is this?

  • It's the instrumental of "Beep, Beep" by Bobby Valentino feat. Yung Joc.

  • u'll get thru ur plateau....trust. u've done it b4....& u'll do it again....believe me. keep it up, love u!

  • **kisseys**

  • Hey girl! That chicken looked good !! & That song has me dancin LOL Newho I guess we would have to work even harder when we reach our plateau & work are butts off double! =D I'm going to do a Fast for 3 days & see how that works for me, I'm doing it bcus I feel so bloated & I need to cleanse my body to start off fresh! Hopefully it helps out in YOUR CHALLENGE you've made =D Wish you lots of luck girl!!!

  • Thank you! Yeah, I'm stumped! I've my cals drastically but don't feel like fasting again. I'm just gonna keep my calorie intake where it is but pick up my exercise routine a notch! :)

  • write down everything you ate for the day so you can have a visual what you ate what exercise you did etc . you can do it
