how can you not enjoy an anime with BEAUTIFUL ANIMATION.

this easily one of the best anime i have seen with stunning animation. next to 5 cm per second and Bakemonogatari.

also as long as the characters are likable, generic story plots will not matter.

Personally, this easily makes it into my top 5. The mechas are original in that they don't do anything beyond our time, in other words, these are much more realistic examples of what they would be like in the real world. Slow and cumbersome, but effective none the less. I also like the whole melancholic feel to it.

I rather love the anime. Fights are really action packed, in between fights, the storyline somehow creates a very calming effect which I don't know how to explain but somehow just touches me. The only complain is the short amount of episodes. There's too little episodes for such an epic anime.

@Boodhunnilesh a lot of main characters have distinctive haircollor or hairstyle so you can almost always immediatly guess who the story revolves about, ichigo from bleach has orange hair, goku from dragonball z.... has some weird haircut, ash from pokemon's got a stupid hat, yu gi oh, again stupid haircut, you can't blame people for wanting to keep their characters with a normal haircut just another collor...

So, I did not think much about seeing that map in the manga, but after I started playing Shogun Total War 2 it kinda seems like Break Blade is in a scrunched up version of Japan. The junction between Athens borders, Krishna, and Orlando seem to stike me as looking like northern Japan the most. Considering this is post apoctalyptic, I guess it could really be former Japan, or not, whatever.

@sinblesser i think because of the people rely magic too much and the people couldnt use magic build their own mech using machine and engineer-like to create recycle energy golem with AI assist built in to fight their destiny....with engine, AI assist, recoil engine built in pretty much more powerful than rely on magic crystal....

This show deserves more views. I just saw the opening and episode 1 and immediately got interested. I'm also waiting for new episodes (im gonna blow soon if they dont come fast enough) and the battle scenes and quality and everything else is awesome. A war is starting and a nation finds a 1000 year old mecha, which doesn't respond to them. It turns out to respond to a young man who was born with no powers. @r3gie831 It is. It has been released in Japan as a movie series. Break Blade and Break Blade 2 are available with English subbing to view on AnimeFreak.tv right now, the second one was released this week on there. Never got to read the manga it is based on, but the anime movie is awesome so far.
