  • HOW DO I SAY OH MY GOD IN SHORT????? omg!!!!!

  • my idol................

  • het johnboy check out if you havent already JEWEL karaoke prank. I thought it was hysterical..

  • @dwaydway1 I just looked it up. That was awesome! lol

  • OMG ....how do you spell GOOSE BUMPS????

  • @dwaydway1 J-E-W-E-L my friend!

  • @dwaydway1 u got this man. correct!

  • She sings with her guts. I like Damien Rice and man he sings with his guts, too. I think that's the way u say I feel free to feel and the people so calm, so mild, who cares about them? I like both. They don't sing like most of the singers 'cos they r composers of their songs. When u'r a composer of this kind of music you're a kind of a poet. I suppose that's why some people don't get it.

  • She Bob Dylan'd it... No good!

  • She sells it, and she sells it well.....Bravo

  • Such a Amazing colourful voice!

  • It's a good song. But this is way over the top...

  • she reminds me of hayden panetierre

  • she don't make music like this any more...

  • @zybotsu001 its hard to be this creative one's whole life. shes a grown lady now and has a awesome life. she's still very talented.

  • I love this song <3

  • @brownkv081 Why do you hate Nirvana? I'm not saying you're opinion is wrong, I'm just genuinely wondering why.

  • I love how every time she does this she puts a new spin on it, I swear I could watch a playlist of like 50 different versions of this song and eat popcorn.

  • @yieldyieldyield So true! I actually created a Jewel playlist and have this song in it about 6 times...each one different than the others

  • Wow.. now that im older seeing this I just realised shes beautiful...

  • Love the guteral angst and sad anger at the end....ahhh youthful anger

  • This just made a grown man shed a tear. That's power.

  • Wow what anger i have felt this way havent you?

  • Oh , awesome . I was a kid, when it was recorded, but now I watch this and hear this and I'm really impressed of Jewel's voice . She's a real artist, that's right . Awesome ... Jewel's awesome!

  • wow I think I see something here.. at 3:19 she has a pissed off look in her face, I may be wrong but I believed this song was about when she was with sean penn. it may have been about him.. Anyways it turns out he was married the time and she didn't know . This song may have had a different interpretation orginally and went bitter. While she is singing this song it looks like she is fighting with the song and it's meaning and what was once a love song turned to bitterness. Thats my guess.

  • What a fabolous voice! wow ♥

  • Yeah baby, you're the best!!!!!!

  • after the 80's and 90's, music went downhill.

this was still when singers knew how to sing!

    the millenium music is shit!

  • Jewel rocks. I have been inspired to sing like her. I can.....booyeah, biotch!

  • wow got a little weird at the end but overall this is a beautiful song.

  • EXCELENTE, ME ENCANTA ESTA CHICA

  • BEAUTIFUL HAUNTING LOVE SONG,SUNG WITH STRONG FEELINGS AND EMOTION...

  • Hootie had some good songs..Let Her Cry was good and so were others. Just my opinion lol

  • great sound~ tho...seaming a little too cool to care?

  • Thumbs up if you're here because of MadTV's parody :)

  • I lost my poker chips really early at Monday's game so I think she's singing about poker players, lol :-)

  • <3

  • the emotion in this is astounding

  • 1.58 t0 2.05 look at those green eyes and the pain. How about those Gemini's for being the best looking of all of us. Marilyn. Jewel. Angelina J ,and geez just add them up. I think this white girl is just the best of the best white women out there

  • I love how this song isn't performed perfectly, it shows true emotion, she's more involved in the message the the way its supposed to be sang, none the less its amazing

  • There was definitely some amazing talent in the early 90s. Jewel was amazing. This song was so early in her career, and I think it was her best song. She put so much into her performance of this song too. Thank you Jewel.

  • God thank you ... For the people you gave that kind of talent to ,know it but not use in any arrogant way , the way this woman use's it . thank you my Lord for such gifts. & thank you my young lady "JEWEL"

  • zo slecht! jammer!

  • her voice, facial expressions, everything, its very genuine and good

  • very lovely voice and hot gal :D

  • Wow! such powerful vocals. Incredible performance indeed!

  • It is amazing just to watch her facial expressions..just to see her form a single note...just to see the way she moves and how she evokes such emotion within herself-her everything is amazing. Takes my breath away.

  • HOLY SHIT...Jewel just got her DIVA ON!!!

  • Right on except...Hootie and the Blowfish ???

  • My favorite voice in the world. =)

  • i felt her pain

  • @Tanya288

I feel her pain too. I totally removed this song from my memories back then and now I understand why.

  • she looks so hot here. shes one one of a kind. a musical genius, gorgeous girl, and a seemingly fine all around human being. what a soul

  • Is that what they mean by energy transfer.. Wow

  • DAMN thats killer.

  • Comment removed

  • That's superb

  • Jeezus, that's passion! You rock Jewel!

  • She is so dam beautiful! Wow ! and definitely very musical- such a great voice

  • Wow she made me cry/ what an amazing performance. She is so vulnerable and honest in her songs. Jewel is an amazing artist!!!

  • i miss real artists

  • @comerbp82 Stop living in the fucking 90s, fucking whiney emo bitches. Seriously.

  • @Baekmagoji go kill yourself you techno pussy

  • @comerbp82 Emo kid telling me to kill myself. Ironic? :D

Anyways, clearly, you live under a rock as well and aren't aware of the MANY amazing artists who are still putting out DISGUSTINGLY AWESOME music. :D

    Good going, fag. ;)

  • @Baekmagoji don't worry broseph, nobody blames your generation for being a bunch of no talent techno pussies. We do blame you for reality TV though.

  • @comerbp82 Good job, you're part of my generation, idiot. You're only four years older than me. And you might as well just dispense with the stereotypes, because it just shows you don't have anything important to say, just whining about shit that YOU don't like because YOU are a sourpuss and clearly live under a rock. Maybe you should take a shower, hehehe. Your rooms probably dirty and you probably smell like shit. Dude, bars and socializing and GOOD music are GOOD for you! :D

  • @Baekmagoji wut?

  • @Baekmagoji Oh, and before you call me a techno-pussy... and for the record, I FUCKING LOVE FLUX PAVILION AND SABREPULSE!~!!!~!~!~... you should read up a little bit on the stuff I like. See, man? You can't see things from under that rock! ;) Love you, sugar bumps. You just made my day. Thanks for the laugh! :D

  • @comerbp82 your an insensitive piece of scrotum shit!!!!! FUCK OFF !!!!

  • @GreenMonkey2011 NOT YOU,.....SORRY....THIS WAS FOR BAEKMAGOJI

  • @GreenMonkey2011 Your punctuation needs work.

  • @comerbp82 I agree. I'm tired of all these auto-tuned princesses who can't sing a lick and can't hold a tune and probably don't understand terms like melody, harmony and lyrical content. I'd happily trade in all the Rhianna, Katy Perry, Britney Spears types for more Jewel, Adele, Alanis, Sara McLachlin types.

  • @comerbp82 What about Adele, Christina Perri, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga,

  • @ErikBrandonMiller I like Adele a lot; I think Christina and Bruno are decent, but nothing special; and Lady Gaga has a terrible voice and relies heavily on editing.

  • @comerbp82 i wouldn't put xtina beside bruno..ewww

  • to greenmonkey2011 apparently you've never heard Adele, Amy Winehouse, Duffy, etc.........there are a lot of great talents coming up the ranks. Don't be a music snob.....

  • @chimeracrusher I HAVE HEARD THOSE OTHER ARTISTS....NOT EVEN CLOSE.........SNOB THIS BITCH

  • HOLY HELL! I've seen Jewel live at Red Rocks & she was great, but OMG this was INCREDIBLE! The emotion she puts into this performance was SO RAW! I swear I thought she was gonna break down crying numerous times. Thank you so much for posting this!!

  • lol she makes me laugh i love her but she makes weird faces and alot movement :/

  • She seems to be trying to hard to put on a "Performance" All she needed to do was stand there and look at the audience but she is making awkward movements and facial expressions that doesn't look natural at all. Like she is nervous and trying to make it look more dramatic than it is.

  • love the face

  • The 90s has some awesome talent. The the early to mid 90s was one of the most competitive stages of in music history. I mean Jewel, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alanis Morrisette, Hootie and the Blowfish, Smashing Pumpkins, ect ect ect ect ect.

  • @imortalsappy maybe because in those days without real talents you wouldn't get anywhere like ppl still believed in sth real not deception like today

  • @imortalsappy AAHHMMEEN! Talk about memories from Kindergarten :)

  • @imortalsappy yup.... the 2000s have just been one big commercial bullshit era... artistry is hard to find and even when you find an inkling its not that great

  • @imortalsappy the 90's were great, I particularly remember when pearl jam and neil young played keep on rockin in the free world at the Mtv music awards, that was a great performance, out of everyone, I'd say Jewel and pearl jam were my favorite in the 90s, great year for music and for boxing, another passion of mine, amazing how much technology hac changed from 1990 to 2011

  • @imortalsappy dude what are you talking about, we have the biebs now.... hahaha

  • @rjbam111 BA HA HA>>>>Awesome!! That kid should be working at KFC......

  • @imortalsappy You had me until Hootie and the motherfucking Blowfish. My god.

  • @imortalsappy and Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Tori Amos, Bjork, Pj Harvey, Green Day, Garbage, Lenny Kravitz, etc etc etc YEAH...

  • @imortalsappy I never heard of ect ect ect ect ect, are they grunge?

  • @brownkv081 Hahaha, maybe! With the wealth of bands back then there just might have been an "ect ect ect ect ect". If you meant that you hadnt heard of any of the bands i listed then i suspect you must have been born in the 90s or 2000's and need to look them up as it will change your view as to what was happening in the world over just 15 years ago.

  • @imortalsappy Nah, I heard of those bands, but I hate Nirvana. Despise them.

  • @brownkv081 One of my best mates also really dislikes them. I just feel like Nirvana was one of those bands that really changed the world and really saved rock. Its not often a band comes along and really reinvents a genre. Also the distorted guitars and voice combined with serious rock energy = winning combination for me. Each to their own i guess.

  • @imortalsappy That is a solid reason, not enough to make me like them...but at least respect. Still I prefer Weird Als parody's.

  • I'm sorry but 2:50 is horrible and unbearable to listen to!

I love Jewel, but this is not a good representation of her true talent.

  • @Xeno25 Hey Xeno25, funny you say that.I fully understand where you come from, hopefully you can understand my opinion too. It is exactly this version which I find the very best of her. Emotion is so, so much taking over, like she's really reviving a previous painful real-live experience there while she sings it. To me, and I think to many others, music is for a huge part about emotion. In nowadays studio-produced recordings things like in this version are often lacking. Which, imo, is a shame.

  • @Xeno25 I mean look at her throughout this video. Her overall appearance. Her eyes say it all. She looks like can she's going to eat the person she's singing about; all that hurt. At that 2:50 points it's like she's totally crying all lungs out, overwhelmed by emotions even loosing her vocals/abilities momentarily afterward (the nahnahnahnah part). And in the end, she looks like she realizes something has gone 'wrong' there. Well sorry, that went for all the reason of emotion just perfect for me

  • amazing.

  • Jewell looked manic in this performance. Whore Marriah Carey does that in her songs too. Who needs to pull of a bi polar act for this song? Nice performance though, in fact awesome.

  • Um I thought I liked Jewel but this was awfull. If she had put more effort into singing insted of trying to appear sultry maybe could of been better.

  • @MyAndo123

AWFUL.....YOURE TONE DEAF JACKASS.......THIS WOMAN IS PURE BEAUTY AND TALENT!! SHE SINGS THIS SONG IN DIFFERENT WAYS TO SHOW SHES JUST SSSSOOOOOOOO FRICKIN TALENTED!!! IGNORANT JACKWAGON YOU ARE!!!!

  • @GreenMonkey2011 What's a Jackwagon? LOL!

  • what a voice! what a song..just brilliant

  • One more thing that just came to my mind: Jewel showed soooooooooooooooooooooooo much promise with what she produced for a debut album, BUT, she NEVER managed to come even close to living up to the expectations that this first album lead people to have, myself included. Her then boyfriend, Sean Penn, thought and said something along the lines that she was going to be her generation's Bob Dylan. Sadly, that never happened; and it wasn't even close. I so WISH that was wrong, but it just isn't.

  • LOVE Jewel, but she OVER emotes, wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy 2 much in this performance. Facial expressions, gesticulations, body contortions, posturing, etc., r sooooooo ridiculously contrived. It's almost as though she is doing a parody of herself. Again, I LOVE me some Jewel, so don't try & tell me how great she is. I am just not BLINDED by my admiration, & I am still grounded in the TRUTH of REALITY. Also, don't even try 2 educate me about her. I 1st saw her perform live 2-14-96, as an OPENING act!

  • I don't believe i have ever seen something more brilliant I have seen freddie mercury live and god knows who else. but to be honest , jewel through my computer in a past that no longer is has moved me in this moment like no other performer ever has...... thanks for posting

  • wow was she crying just now??

  • She really is great! She wrote all of her own music and she sings like an angel! Try to match that lady GaGa and Taylor swift! I love JEWEL! She Rocks!

  • @KJB1187 She didn't write all her own music... she wrote some of her own stuff.. but she did not write all her songs. Just thought you should know that! :-) She is a good artist tho.

  • Best live performance I've ever seen. Look up a Scottish singer called Amy Macdonald, she's really good live as well

  • WOW!!!!!!

  • Brilliant....Thank you so much for posting....

  • 96 dislikes!?!?!?! Who TF do you think you are? Do you recognize beauty in anything? Michaelangelo's David is just a naked dude, right?

  • @MrZippyzap i guess they do recognize but this beauty deserves a better video quality! so maybe they disliked the quality of the video and not the quality of jewel

  • Nothin but ♥ for this performance. The note @ 3:10 hits me every damn time. One of the things I love about her is how she always changes up her phrasing.

Another killer version I recommend to anybody that's a fan is the MTV Unplugged version. It's another killer.

  • People can't sing like that nowadays. Great job jewel

  • WTF ?

  • @3TNT3 i agree..i love jewel, but honestly thought this wasnt one of her greater performances.

  • Comment removed

  • Are you serious?? whatever you 94 persons are, who didn't like this performance. Or you must be retarded or deaf. Cuz this is one of the most brilliant performance ever by Jewel... OMG, I just wanna cry, she touched my heart.....

  • DAMN.... why can't more singers today be as awesome as JEWEL ?!?!?

  • @domrct You really need to get out of the house. Jewel is very good, but there are a number of OTHER great ones; i.e., Regina Spektor, Jaymay, Corinne Bailey Rae, Adele, Feist, Sara Bareilles, Zee Avi, Lisa Hannigan, Florence+The Machine, Sia, Katie Herzig, Xenia, Ellie Goulding, Melody Gardot, Lady Lamb The Bee Keeper, Ingrid Michaelson...Honestly, have u ever heard of even one of these singers, much less listened to them? Honestly now? Cause if u have, u r on crack to say what u did.

  • @3TNT3 Some of the people on your supposed "talented" list are absolute crap!!

  • @edaj84 Ohhh, no no no--that is the stuff your ears are full of. Clean them out, and they will all sound muuuuuuch better.

  • @edaj84 Ohhh, no no no--that is the stuff your ears are full of. Clean them out, and they will all sound muuuuuuch better.

  • 94 people are Foolish

  • the best jewel performance.......

  • you or angel i love you!!!

  • Man her voice is so unique! I love it

  • i love you Jewel!! i was raised to your music!! i love every song i've ever heard by you!!

  • shes really feelin it in this vid! love you doll. the first artist i ever loved : )

  • This woman has SO much pure talent and a GOD given voice!

    I LOVE YOU JEWEL!!!

  • and 93 people are fucking retarded.

  • DAMN Jewel is great the emotion in her face when she singing is magic. It tells the songs story. AWESOME>

  • Awesome. She is certainly one of Gods angels. I'm sure later she learned how to not breath into the mic! :')

  • thts my lil sisters bday

  • Its too bad that whore like gaga bieber and katy perry have taken over much of the industry and that people pay for that garbage and keep them on the radio.. Real music is hard to come by these days

  • beautiful inside and out!

  • Ona jest jakaś chora psychicznie. Beznadziejnie to brzmi. Kasia Sochacka o wiele lepiej wykonała ten utwór.

  • Theres NOT ONE female or male singer today that can match this TALENT!!!! No frickin auto tuner computerized nothing !!!!! Music today SUCKS!!!

    Love You Jewel!!!

  • @GreenMonkey2011 Try OPENING UR EARS, & ur tiny little MIND, 4 ONCE in ur life. U are an ignorant FOOL, if u think Jewel is the ONLY singer on a planet of 7 BILLION(!!!) people who has her level of musical talent. That statement is just sooooooooo IGNORANT, soooo blind, soooo stupid; & just soooo many other things. Simply RIDICULOUS. Tell me, have u EVER thought of SEARCHING OUT good music, instead of just listening 2 what the mainstream top 40 media serves up 2 U??? I can answer that 1: NO!

  • @3TNT3 You talk way TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much! lol...youre the ignorant young idiot that really don't know what real music is.....

  • @GreenMonkey2011 Okay clown, whatever you say....

  • @3TNT3

THATS RIGHT BITCH........IT IS WHATEVER I SAY.......SHES RAW TALENT...NOT LIKE THE SHIT YOU LISTEN TOO

  • @GreenMonkey2011 "Shit", huh? As IF you have ever even heard of any of the bands and singers I listen to, much less listened to them. Your basement walls are so thick, you've probably never even heard of The Beatles. Does your mom get food down to you through a laundry shoot, or what?

  • @3TNT3 Basement....WTF IS THAT???? YOU SAP!! I'M FROM THE WEST COAST YOU DORK!! IF YOU DONT THINK JEWEL IS TALENTED , YOU HAVE A FLIPPIN PROBLEM! I KNOW THERE ARE ALOT OF TALENTED VOCALS, BUT NOT LIKE HERS , SHMUCK

  • Comment removed

  • @GreenMonkey2011 Can't you READ, Donkey?!? What part of "I think Jewel is beautiful, and extremely talented. I like her early music VERY MUCH."; "... who are ALSO VERY talented."; "Jewel is very good, but there are a number of OTHER great ones", etc., etc., etc. do you NOT understand??? Just how in the F do you get my thinking that she isn't talented, out of those statements, TOOL? Just shows how utterly retarded you are. And how in the F would I know that u live in California?!?

  • @GreenMonkey2011 And AGAIN, she IS very very talented, BUT on a planet of 7 BILLION people, I'm sorry 2 inform u, there r OTHERS who r equally as talented, & some who r MORE so. Get over it. She is not some demi-god. She is a HUMAN. Great, but not THE best. But u would never know that, b/c u r sooo small & close minded, & don't bother to venture out beyond your delusions. Broaden your horizons, turtle Donkey. Just TRY listening 2 the people on the list I gave u--just try. U MIGHT be surprised.

  • Comment removed

  • @GreenMonkey2011 1st, just so u know, I like Jewel, A LOT. That said, I am not BLINDed w/ BIAS, like some people are...hint, hint. That statement is sooo off, I can't even begin 2 say... U, & 17 other people, really need 2 get over ur obsession & check out some OTHER singers, i.e., Regina Spektor, Jaymay, Corinne Bailey Rae, Feist, Zee Avi, Lisa Hannigan, Sara Bareilles, Florence+The Machine, Adele, Sia, Katie Herzig, Ellie Goulding, Melody Gardot, Lady Lamb The Bee Keeper, Ingrid Michaelson...

  • @GreenMonkey2011 jason mraz, regina spektor

  • @rightnearthebeachboy

NOT EVEN CLOSE.........THIS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ONE OF JEWEL'S BETTER PERFORMANCES, BUT ITS BETTER THAN ANY THING OUT THERE TODAY!!!!!! YALL CAN SUCK IT....ESPECIALLY 3TNT3!!!!!

  • @GreenMonkey2011 ROTFLMAO. GreenDonkey, you are one hilarious ass. You must have hit your head very hard, and fell in a sewer; cause you are one CRAAAAAAZAY mofo, and your ears are obviously full of shit. Thanks for the really good laugh, Donkey. I can't stop laughing, seriously. Ohhhhh brother, nothing like a good laugh. Yes, u r absolutely right, on a planet of 7 BILLION people, Jewel is the ONLY human being who possesses a great deal of musical talent. Riiiiiiiiiight, u betcha.

  • @GreenMonkey2011 I listed A LOT of other current singers who are ALSO VERY talented. And I'll bet you didn't even bother to listen to one of them. Instead, you are holed up in your mother's basement, listening to ONLY Jewel, on a loop. 'Your' world is obviously a VERY very small one....

  • @3TNT3 I see your one that deals in absolutes....OK I'm sure there are alot of talented vocals out there....you win

Not many new singers today that have that kind of talent, thats all I was trying to say.....The Beatles???? Are they Canadian????? lol

  • @GreenMonkey2011 i will agree with you wholeheartedly. i miss the 90's. it had the best music
