@bobywade517 Ken played marth pretty well in this video. If you play online on the wii, most of the time, you will meet a meta knight player and most of the time, they will spam tornado on you until your about 200% then easy kill.

Plus characters can grab the edge even when facing the wrong way. The only time Brawl is fun is when u unplug ur friends controller and laugh while u kill them and they try to fix it.

I think if they coulda just added more even characters to melee is about the only way they coulda improved it.

This makes me wish they had released Melee+ or something. I like the additions that brawl brought, with online and stage builder, but I do miss being able to wavedash/l-cancel/other stuff. I also miss the original Young Link and Dr. Mario, though those who weren't heavily into melee probably cant tell the diff between them and their brawl counterparts gameplay-wise. I think if they had kept the melee sysytem though, MK and Snake wouldnt be so rigged

You can still combo in Brawl , but the games don't suck on the Wii. The Zelda game, Twilight Princess was rated in the top 3 in one of the best Japanese Gaming Magazines.

Theres a bunch of good games with great ratings, and the style of the Wii is different unlike the other systems who have been doing the same thing, controller and controller.

I believe they took out L-canceling to implement "auto" canceling. To give the game a more "pro and con" feel. Instead of EVERY character being able to recover from EVERY air move wit next to no ending lag.

I understand why you are mad that people hate brawl but you cannot blame them. Melee is more fast pace and a better fighting game in Brawl. In Melee, you needed skill to win. In Brawl, you need "jack" to win. And i don't believe that Brawl sold more copies than Melee. Yeah, it was the fastest selling games but Melee sold more in copies. and there are yet glitches to be found in Melee than in Brawl. Melee is truly the better fighting game because you need skill and reaction times.

It sounds to me like you know the game very well. I'll take your word. I never played at a competition level. Actually it's just, I grew up with Melee and the original. I didn't spend too much time with Brawl before switching to the 360 console entirely. But while I'm no expert, I will say that to me the hit/slam/smashing etc. sound effects felt better in Melee. Specifically DK's handclap, mario's power kicks, and links hardslash with the sword and bat hits..

Graphics? Game play matters too. Brawl is slower with lack of L-canceling which allowed for actual combos. Also none of that glitch bull because l-canceling was back in the original SSB too. I doubt they would include a glitch twice.

Balance? Most of the tournament winners play high tier characters such as Snake and MK.

Players? What does this even mean?

Online? Yes it has official online play but it's still total crap.

They can't please themselves and the Smash community. Items CAN be done in tournys, but we of the Smash community just don't enjoy their prescence. But non-item Smash tourneys take a long time to finish (especially with 200+ entrants). So Evo decided to just drop Smash altogether rather then

a.)Run a Item tourny with poor attendence.

b.)Run a regular tourney that drags out EVO.
