  • Oh dear! I saw this video kind of late and it's almost Monday again!!! Aww fooey! Lol. And plus the person who I have trouble speaking openly with isn't around right now... Hmmm, what to do...

  • @FartWithHeadphonesOn yeah it's just not working. the thing is I'm from Germany and I'm not 18 yet so I had to use my moms credit card but it wasn't accepted and blabla! but don't worry a friend of mine who lives in Virginia ordered one for me so everything is perfect :) I'm really excited!!!! :)

  • I've been really taking this challenge to heart this week. It's really made a difference in my conversations. I never realized how much I would hold back inside until I started pushing myself to speak up about how I feel. Thank you for the inspiration!

  • I've been working at it alot this week. You couldn't have started this at a better time! My friend is helping me to be more positive this year. Can't wait to see how you did with the challenge!

  • This reminds me of Project Toasty. Love it. I think if would be cool if you and Arielle did a Video together. That's just me. I think you both are great.

  • @TheLoveliesbleeding I'm technically a co-founder of Project Toasty, actually. Arielle is a good friend of mine. We were just talking about collabs and stuff. When she started it, I was very busy with my family so I haven't been involved much thus far, but I will be :)

  • i love this woman with alll my heart !

if anyone wants to watch some silly stupid videos you can check mine out...im putting up more soon... and they will be better ;) lol

  • I just broke up with my girlfriend

  • Ah my Aspergers does not really let me do this.... Ermmm not sure.

  • so i have been doing this challenge and i have had a pretty good week this week thanks michelle!

  • This is a great way of using online video to effect positive change & you're right. One of the worst things people do is "speak in dark corners" or behind other's backs. A true friend tells you what's being said about you & defends you when you're not there. Much success with these videos, Miss M. I look forward to more.

    Much L&R,

    JB

  • It's crazy that you started doing this because just last week at school we did Challenge Day! Look it up, it's life changing.

  • do we need to save that .VCF file attachment thingy for some reason ? (the one that comes with the newsletter confirmation)(sorry 4 stoopid question, but am a tech noob)

  • the Michelby Nation thanks you for your triumphant return to the interwebz. p.s is there someway i can get my copy of the ebook autographed so that when you're sooooper famous i can say "I knew her when . . . . . . . ."

  • I don't mind speaking up but it's just I feel guilty or stupid after I say it. Will that go away the more you speak up ?

  • @littledeville83 If what you are saying is just you being honest about how you feel, you have no reason to feel guilty... so yes, it's more a matter of you getting used to letting yourself be heard. It's ok to say how you feel :)

  • Yay just pre-ordered my copy. So excited to read it~

  • thank you :)

  • Guess this means I will also have to get out of the house and be social this week.

  • I always speak up and will do so now, good lord you're hott !!!

  • Good advice and as someone who is shy I do tend to stay quiet when situations arise when I want to give an opinion, however at times it is difficult to get my voice heard. However if someone I knew was being talked about badly and I disagreed with that opinion I would speak up for sure - because I am the sort of person who really doesn't give two hoots what people think in that circumstance.

But there are things I will take from that video which I will use so thank you!

  • I am good at speaking up to defend other people, it's myself that I need to work on defending :)

    Great challenge. I accept.

  • I'm going to do this along side my diet because I'm sick of people walking all over me and telling me what I can and cant do and making me feel like craaaaaaaaaap.

LET'S DO THIS THING! Thank you Michelle!xxx

  • Pre-ordered the shit out of that book.

  • @sojiness YEAH you did! :D (thank you) <3

  • I love this, really looking forward to trying each challenge. Good luck everyone.

  • The fact that this is a challenge actually encourages me to do it. I am a very, very shy person but I think these challenges are going to help me a lot.

    Thank you, Michelle. <3 :D

  • i love you with all my heart! i'm very very loud and outgoing but i don't speak up. NO LONGER. I WILL SPEAK UP. love you michelle <3

  • This is hard. But I'll try.

  • Honestly this is something I've already noticed my self doing more lately, and I attribute allot of that to you, as it's your words from previous writings that are in my head as I'm having these conversations.

  • great project!

  • Tomorrow, as soon as my exam is over, i'm going into town to put money in my bank so I can order Free Your Awesome. I'm 110% sure it will be worth the trip, as if it's anywhere near the quality of Michelle's blog posts/videos it will be wonderful.

  • @aloneonatrain :D ...just :D!!!! <3333333

  • I was having one of those "everyone hates me and my life is pointless" days. Now I'm not. You are magic, Michelle.

  • @ekmurr <333333

  • would def pre-order your book but it isn't on iTunes so I can't buy it :( :(

but I'll at least accept and take all the chances I get to complete the missions haha :) <3

  • @mrsbanjoPm Thanks! Is it just that you can't use paypal, then? I'd hate to have it be inaccessible to you just because of that. Maybe we can work something out...

  • Lets do this thing :)

  • fucking great idea!

  • that's a good challenge for me- I accept

  • wow i just started watching you a month or so ago. I am amazed by you. Your care so much for your viewers eh. thanks for the challenge.

  • My postal carrier keeps leaving rubber bands everywhere, so I'm now inspired to speak up today. I've got nothing to lose. What's he gonna do, shoot me?

  • Okay! This is something I've been wanting to do for a while, so I'll try :D. Good luck!

  • I like yo styleee. Challenge accepted.

  • challenge accepted!

  • I've found myself doing this same thing subliminally. And it helps both me and them figure REALLY what the deal is... thnx MCHL VRGZ

  • *deap dreath* okay, here goes.

  • Definitely gonna participate in this! Weee! :)

I think I identify as shy person and I always just shut up and never say my opinion so I think It's time to SPEAK UP.

  • theres this annoying and weird girl in school who has anger problems and always thinks of killing others. she also thinks everyone is her friend and avoiding her is a game. if i speak up, it may be the end of my life. other than that, sure, i will speak up!

  • Super excited for your book! And this challenge is definitely... a challenge. I'll do my best though, and wait anxiously for your book! Who knows, I might. just. review. it... on MY vlog. Woot! You Rock!

  • I am already really good at being awesome. I, however, enjoy you and like supporting things I enjoy. That being said I of course bought the book. May even read it after I finish all of the Game of Thrones.

  • I gotta speak up. I'm so shy and I don't know how to tell people that this certain thing isn't for me.

  • Is it permittable to do this drunk? A la Weekend Quest?

  • oh man this is easier said than done! it's something i need to work on though. oy vay, lets see how this goes!

  • I kept quiet today. ><

    No more! :D

  • Great Video. SPEAK UP!

  • I will give this a shot. I have never been a person that is able to speak up or even out.

  • This is awesome. You are awesome.

I am definitely going to do this.

  • Michelle you're so pretty!

  • This is going to be the most difficult thing ever for me. If I actually do it, even just once, I'll come back here and let you know. I have a huge problem with this. I hate being so incredibly shy. Lol why is just typing this out making me want to cry? I'M SO LAME. End comment.~

  • This is truly awesome. Far to often people just sit there and watch someone get bullied and put down and I really think that all it takes is one person to confront that person to really make a difference, not only will it maybe stop the person but it can also inspire others around to be brave and speak up! I love this, can't wait to put it to practice and for the nine other challenges!

  • My new year's resolution this year is to be more confident. This is PERFECT to help me in my journey. Thanks! :)

  • we'll see, i'll try to do this.

  • @rayraycrow trying is all I can ask of anyone :) <3

  • Michelle, this 10 week challenge ties in perfectly with my ATP (my long practicum for teaching - the last hurrah before I'm a teacher[10 weeks left]). I think that following this will enable me to not only get more out of this experience, but potentially keep me sane during a time when sanity is not really an option. I am excited to do this challenge along side you and when I have a free moment I intend on responding to one of your videos, hopefully with good news!

  • @mariacollins89 AWSOME!!! I wish you all the luck in the world with this and your next big venture.

  • I'm going to do this, and officially start working on my new year's resolutions. Fart you for this motivation you've given me. Fart you.

  • @itsmefer No no no no... fart YOU.

  • sometimes criticizing something is just some persons way of communicating - probably jealousy based, would a work place be more effective if these persons were gotten rid of ? - still working on this theory, don't know yet

  • @theflorgeormix Criticizing and pointing out a flaw that will affect the outcome of a project are very different. I've found that honesty trumps needless criticism a million times over when it comes to getting work done in a group. When you can trust each other's opinions and know they aren't coming from a malicious place, you can move on quicker, take the opinions in stride, and produce amazing work.

  • You know what...I'm gonna do this

  • @LogicThEncrypter RADSAUCE.

  • you're amazing :) your mom would be really proud of you.

  • @pvbchic :D thanks!

  • Mission accepted.

  • @Xsuit WEEEEOOOOO!

  • Thanks, michelle! I WILL go out and be awesome :P

  • Yes this coincides with fear as most do not speak up with the fear of being shot down. Do not deem your voice/opinion any less valuable than that of someone who might have a higher social-political or economic status. Not all success is determined by financial stature. "When you move beyond fear, you feel free".....(who moved my cheese)

  • I will most definitely be doing this. I'm actually probably going to be doing all of these and might, at some point, make a video response to detail how it's going for me. So woohoo :D!

  • Good video....you're pretty.

  • I spoke up once a few months ago against a clique at my school (it was over facebook) and apart from a nice cathartic release, nothing really changed. Now I feel like I can't speak up again (in the real world or virtual world) even when I still feel excluded/afraid of being excluded. For most of them, it's a maturity thing, so until they get over themselves, I don't think speaking out is going to achieve anything. So should I just bide my time?

  • i enjoy you a lot.

  • You know, dealing with anxiety, my counsellor told me speaking up was really good for you. It's really hard, but that's why I like this challenge, because if you force yourself to do it, you realize that it's not that bad, and you can do it more often! Thanks for the challenge, Michelle :)

  • I hate you, Now i have to actually talk in my sociology class in class discussions.

  • shallenge accepted

  • I wish I had enough money to buy your e-book. I bet it's magnificent.

  • not in my sub box *pewp*

  • happens all the time, criticizing to create a power dynamic - insecurity based, unhelpful

  • This video is just what I needed. I have decided to speak up recently, step out of my comfort zone and start vlogging on my channel. You and Grace are my inspirations!:)

  • @Thaoolol Oh yes, please!!!!

  • Dear Michelle,

I'm a 17 year old guy. I have a huge problem with depression and anxiety. I go see my school's stupid mental health lady once a week about this (she makes me feel crazy).

I really need to speak up. I accept your challenge!!!!

  • love you

  • I am scared everytime I speak up, but not this week.

  • @JustJenell SWEET. :D

  • @76leemalee I know what you mean. But if you are always being honest and it's coming from a good place (your heart, a place of love, other gushy cliches that are the only way to say this) then you can never be wrong.

  • Love This Idea but im Scared Everytime Im Gonna Speak up its will be at the Wrong Time and i will say the Wrong Things lol

  • Totally just realized this before watching the video. This is what I've always struggled with.

  • I think this is a good assignment and I have something small that I can apply it to this week.

  • I'm not sure if it's just me, but every time I need motivation to say something, it somehow happens. Thanks xD

Also hoping that we get some sort of "YES MAN"-esq challenge at some point. It would be... fun. ;P

  • like I had this tab loading for a couple minutes now I think.. . I'm prolly not first ): oh well, time to watch the vidiiooo

  • I'll try even though I'm a very shy person.... O_O

  • wooo! first?
