Sell the DIGI 002 for an MBOX???, what you needed money?, because I don't replace my DIGI 001 wish its a great interface, 8 analogs input, 8 ADAT digital and two more SPFDI, a total of 18 inputs and also lost of outputs, record in 24 bits and support ASIO direct monitoring, have two super clean microphone preamps, phantom power, monitor mode and works great with Sonar, Cubase or FL, reaper, etc, so I dont need an stupid limited Pro tools and a crappy 2 channels M-Audio interface
Man, you're putting a WHOLE BUNCH on your plate. You have a MOTIF, Reason, Fruity Loops and Cubase.
Suggestion: Unless you are already making money doing tracks, concentrate on one device to get your music out of. Basically the MOTIF and Reason serve the same purpose but I hate the sequencer on the MOTIF. The Reason sequencer is probably easier.
Maybe you're already getting a bunch of stuff off I don't know. I'm just saying that EVERYTHING packs a grip of technology these days. One.
Oh, one other thing. If you were thinking about getting an MPK49, I can't understand why you just wouldn't use the MOTIF as a Controller. The key quality on the MOTIF is better. You could get those same Drum Pads on an MPD16 if you just want drum pads. I can think of reasons you would want to have an extra controller but if you just want something to run your sliders and knobs, look at the Behringer BCF or BCR 2000. For the price of an MPK you could get a BCF or BCR and an MPD. Peace.
I have no issues with the MPK series controllers. I use an MPK25 just because it's small and I don't need anything bigger right up by my keyboard and what not. You have the right idea and a good starting set of equipment. I would research monitor placement. just sayin. Throwing out ideas. Def learn protools inside and out-It's a game changer. Don't give up. Eventually get a tower PC or Mac (not a laptop) so you can run a PCI interface which will pretty much eliminate latency. Dont give up.
shit like this keeps me doin it my dude-fuck the haters-any serious musician has been there before-you WILL, if you stick to your guns, get more equipment and better equipment and the guy who is in your shoes will be buying your old stuff to upgrade HIS lab -its how we do! gud luck and much sucess!!
