@cuntalumpacus I agree with you....i'm from Belgium and Americans don't know that much from Europe....that's why they are Americans....stupids who're thinking that they rule the world. By the way Norway & Sweden are my favorite holiday countrys....I'm working for Volvo Trucks...great compagny to work for...hail scandinavia....just the language....difficult to learn !!!!!!!!!! Greetz from Belgium.
@cuntalumpacus completely agree with you, france has some really awesome black metal too. norway just got more hype than anywhere else. just as florida got the death metal hype. i live in tampa and as much as death died here it still lingers on with some really cool bands. Hail Black Metal!!
Responding to what others are talking about : Idk about the majority of American Metal listeners but when I see a band is from a specific country I do not draw conclusions from that. How the equation Metal + Norway = Good music works beats me, but whatever lol
This song is unbelievable. The riff is so catchy and pumping.
@benpetrofsky what country a band of from definitely influences them. doesnt make them good i guess, but its no coincidence that alot of good black/death bands are from sweden/norway/finland region. Like you certainly wouldn't find a band like this from ireland, you may find it in the UK/US because they share a common ancestry from the germanic/dutch people. But would you find it in france? not as easily - basically my point is that some cultures produce certain music more easily
@EIN771 Have you not heard Les Légions Noires? There is very little good bm from the UK despite the "common germanic ancestry" you speak of. There are many other factors at play which give rise to such a music and worldview.
@xophe1984 From the UK theres bal sagoth, code, venom, onsetcold and cradle of filth. Besides, the UK's ancestry is just as much French, Celtic and nowadays Middles Eastern and Eastern European. I'm merely saying that some cultures and backgrounds will have certain types of music. This isn't a rule, just an observation. Why do you think so many mdm, dm, folk metal, symphonic black metal/death metal, viking metal and black metal bands are from Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark?
I really LOLed at this. Many of my fellow Americans weigh a band's worth if they are from Scandinavian countries which is pretty stupid. I agree, many can easily suck. Finland, for example, puts out some of the worst cookie-cut bands. And yes, pretty good song.
The reason they think this is because black metal pretty much originated in Norway, let them think what they want, at least we know what it really is.
I see what you are saying but there are more good BM bands from Scandinavian countries than anywhere else. That is, of course, only my opinion. However there are good BM bands in other countries too,Pagan Hellfire from Canada and Wolves in the Throne Room from USA. Cheers.
I agree, death metal is pretty much dead. Although "the Golden Season" of black metal is long gone and over, there are still a lot of potential, but the most of what comes from black metal bands these days is crap.
"Liberation" has sick and fantastic drum work. Frost sure knows how to destroy with those sticks... I should really listen to "Hellfire" again after a long break, but I just remember it being boring compared to "Liberation" or their best offer in my opinion, "Beyond The Apocalypse" ("Chasing Dragons" might be their best song).
