omg this is so awesome. I love hearing them all speak English. When Dex said Grandma it was like... the best. I don't even know why. And it's fun to see the dutch subtitles. Like the words for "sign the divorce papers" were soooooooooooo long, lmao. That grandma is sassy. Now i want to hear the grandma speak some dutch. But english is good, very good. So jealous that they are all fluent in it. I need to be smart like that!
Dex + Oma EH = AWESOME! I was about to ask if it was strange for me to love their relationship/scenes so much, but then I remembered Luke and Lucinda. Hee! DexyEnglish, so lovin' it!!
Dex speaking english is kinda hot,Martijin too. Love Elizabeth Hubbard, I guess when we don't see her on ATWT it because she's here! What's really sad is that this show is a lot better than ATWT right now!
I feel like Martijn and Dex both want/need the same things from Irene which is they want her to show them more attention or affection. But Irene has cultivated this ability to just shut downa nd be very business like when she feels vulnerable (as she did with Dex was talking to her and as she has in the past when Martijn wanted to talk about their marriage). It's like Irene's coping mechanisms (probably developed in response to her absentee, bossy boots mother) are clashing w/ her family.
for the non-dutch people, saint nicholas isnt santa:P. its something simular to santa, sinterklaas. some christian holy man that is celebrated in holland in the end of november til 5 december. thats right, we get presents 5 december and then again with christmas XD
Interesting ... I live in America in an area with quite a few people of Dutch Heritage, and many families (mine-of German heritage- included) have celebrated the visit of St. Nicholas Dec. 5 since we were little, but I never actually knew why! (I never asked as a child, since I was receiving gifts!!!!)
Dude. English. I love actually being able to understand what they're saying.
There are two great things about watching foreign gay soap operas.
1) The plots are usually way better.
2) Sometimes they speak English, and their accents are so cute! ^.^
Especially Dex's!

I think the problem is Irene is very cold, and doesnt show any emotion in public including her kids and ex.

santa came out of the idea of Saint Nick.
So that would be why they are similar.
