I'm right handed, and as a tennis player, I think it's better if I grip the bat as I would hold my racket backhanded. I think it gives more power to a shot. So I don't udnerstand why right handed people hold their bat on their right side. Thought?
@Wanthy When batting (right-handed), the left hand is used to guide the bat, while the right hand is used to give the swing power.
As you said with the tennis and giving more power to your shot, it'd be best to hold the bat on your right side. If you switch sides, you take the power from the right hand (making it the guide hand) and move it to the weaker (if you are right-handed) hand, which will now be the one giving the power to the bat.
Damn, i always used to line up my finger joints to my knuckles for some reason and didnt get the result i wanted...i have a game tomorow, i should try this.
he's right. when i was at bp one day, a changed my knuckles to like this and i owned in bp. i used to not be able to hit the ball but i smashed all of them. my next game i went 2 for 2. it works
i have to put this comment in. you don't want to rollyour top hand ground balls, with the top palm up it makes it natural for a curved swing. i'm not trying to come across like a know it all but i take from what you are saying you don't believi in getting power from your legs and torso. i gues for a slap hitter or singles hitter with a ton of speed that swing would work. good luck, much respect ,
you got like 1 thing right- the lining up of your knuckles, they dont have to be perfectly lined up but pretty close.... but did you say your top hand should roll over? that is the best way to get yourself out in baseball- throwing on the outside part of the plate make idiots out of people like you who roll over because you dont know how to have level flat hands and hit to the opposite field.

This guy knows what he's talking about. Anyone who doesn't hit this way could improve their game even more if they did follow what he's saying.

Line up the knocking knuckles? Are you serious?
