@UrbanArmed I spent a few years as a police dispatcher and was in charge of disaster and emergency training. I worked with the fbi, secret service, and homeland security on many of our disaster drills. People just don't realize how fragile our infrastructure is, and how easily overwhelmed our emergency services can get!
Interesting thoughts of course. BUT, if you think we have a third world infrastructure, you haven't been to the third world. Which is not to say we don't have infrastructure problems; we do.
@tomfaranda you got me on that... guess I was being a bit dramatic. It's not exactly Calcutta here. But we have almost zero progress in our infrastructure and it is just a disaster waiting to happen. We use the same methods to deliver power, and move sewage as we did 50 years ago. Thanks for watching and keeping me on my toes.
I just want to go on record as saying...yes, I'm disabled BUT I am likely more prepared to provide care for myself and my medical equipment than 90% of the able-bodied sheep in this country. I'm not growling at your overall message because I agree that as a nation we are grossly under-prepared to deal with a SHTF, however there are a few disabled folks who are very turned on to the need to prep and are doing whats necesasary to make arrangements for what I believe is an inevitable collapse.
@AnnBearForFreedom No offense meant by that. I'm particularly referring to people who are incapable of caring for themselves. Such as feeding, clothing, etc... people who need 24/7 care. There are an astounding number of americans living in institutions and group homes. For example look at the nursing homes that abandoned their clients during hurricane Katrina. We don't have a good track record of taking care of each other
@Bushcraft412 Oh I agree, and no offense was taken! I often use my own situation as a teaching tool, trying to emphasize the need to provide backup for ourselves and our medical equipment. I do receive outside care, but I'm trying to "butch up" my system so I could be safe on my own. Youre right, the abuse of elderly and disabled is scarey, sad and worth having a system to get around. Thanks for your message!
@AnnBearForFreedom Safety in numbers is the key. Neighbors, people in the same apartment building need to put their petty divisions aside and work together to survive. You may disabled but your very capable. Canning, growing crops and similiar skills.
@gunguru2012 thats what I'm shooting for. Lots of people making videos treat SHTF as something you can fix with a bug out bag, an AR15 and hoards of food. That armchair commando stuff gets you alot of views and subs, but it doesn't help people properly prepare. I really hope people look at their preps and go beyond hoarding supplies and look at sustainability. Thanks for watching!
@Bushcraft412 M-m-m-m, . . . n-n-n-o-o-o-o, . . . this idea of some mass exodus has already been calculated. There will be no mass exodus from any U.S. city. I mean, as young as you appear, in the 60's you weren't reading the descriptions of an interstate highway system in part, to make sure that, the rural areas would not be over-run and wrecked by fleeing city-dwellers. They're way, way ahead'a ya', little Buddy, . . . mentally, y'need t'make a quantum leap.
@Bushcraft412 The internet is short of humor, I look everywhere, but oh, gosh, @8:10 I had t'laugh: ". . . . shows that, when we need the government, they may not be there for us.", . . . Pardner, you need to make a quantum leap, . . . BEFORE it's forced upon you, . . .
@phillipgaley well... I was going to actually give you a well thought out reply to this, but then I looked at your comment history and realized your just a troll and leaving dumb comments is the only enjoyment you probably get out of your sorry life. So... I'm glad you found some enjoyment and got a laugh out of my video and have a good day sir. Thanks for watching.
The problem is that our government has been taking over by offshore bankster criminals. Thats the main reason why things are screwed up. The second reason is that Americans (including myself to an extent,) have gotten dependent, soft and lazy. Our forefathers would be rolling in their graves. Most Americans don't know how to garden, can or do the most routine things. I get the point of your video but I had to be harbinger of bad news but its going to get worse before it gets better.
@Grizzly907LA I find the scariest thing to be just how fragile our infrastructure is. Our entire world is held together by power lines that we stick on the top of long pieces of wood. Our country really needs to start investing in itself. Our roads can't handle rush hour traffic let alone evacuations. Small accidents back cars up for miles. I fear that once it goes down the grid wont come back up for a long time.
@Bushcraft412 I agree. I live in LA-tell me about crumbling infrastructure. My long term goal and I hope I have time for everything to come to fruition. I want a cabin off the grid, power via solar and wind, a garden and small orchid for food (hopefully.) My mom used to can and she grew up on a farm and knew how to garden-one of the best. I want to learn those same skills. The grid wont come back for a long time because we don't manufacture anything anymore.
A black start would have to be done if the grid went down. There's a good documentary called Urban Danger which talks about the things you just outlines. I'm PM the link to you if you want.
I feel I am gods hands no matter what happens. Its not a cop out. I am doing what I can right now to change my circumstances but at the end of the day I'm in gods or if you will a higher powers hands and he/she or it hasn't gotten me this far just to drop me on my rear end now.
@thewhiskeyrebel77 Look up continuity of government and also presidential directives. Yes they will shut us down they have been passing the laws for years to ensure total control
Very well said!
