  • GET-`¸THE--.NEW`~-DROID¸-PHONE_..FREE`¸-

    www․DROID4FREE․TK

    Go to the URL.

  • Android users, G(.)(.)gle is watching you..

  • I have Iphone and BB, and honestly I think the Google phone is a tough one..My girlfriend has it and she has better internet than mines...

  • YOU SNORING TOO LOUD I CANT SLEEP LOOL

  • Zzzzzz

  • Now because of the iPhone WOW the market so much, Android better be something WOW WOW for the market. And no matter what HTC is doing, they are just ODM for Google, and this is a Google phone - That's why "G"1. HTC just making a prototype for everyone to start building apps for Android Market ... I am sure it's HTC's "DREAM" and their "MAGIC" to be able to make their very own HTC Android phones one day ... Brand your own things HTC!

  • I own an iPhone, loves it for the first few months, after that I feel that there just ain't enough to keep me going ... still exploring and expecting more ... so definitely there are still lots of rooms for improvements in smartphones ...

  • I dont own an Iphone at all (Nokia NSeries actually).

it looks pretty cool this one....actually i would love when this baby gets for sell...more competition will make these kind of products better. Please stop rating ppl down 'cause you hate apple/google.

  • I can't wait to try it out for myself!

  • This guy sounds like an aggressive infomercial salesman. Perchance the Oxyclean peddler?

  • i believe in android, i don't believe in this model of the phone

    pretty ugly.

  • @LearnToFck what you say is right the design not exist is really ugly!! how they can make this mistake...ahahahah

  • Can. Comes with a youtube app, same as the iPhone

  • It took a worrying amount of time to load slash dot..

  • They were using their own private wifi network for the demo, not Wembley's fast wifi or a cellular network

  • Yeah, I suppose. Saying that though - most users won't be using Wembley's fast wifi.....

  • Nah, what I mean is that their wifi connection was crap, not the phone

  • Something such as TouchFlo 3D should be introduced to the Andriod platform, iPhone has got Core Animation

  • Doesn't look as fancy as iPhone and Windows Mibile Phones, but a lot cheaper, I've always wanted to buy an HTC Touch Pro, Touch Pro is exactly what I need.

  • im loving that g

  • I don't understand why we see lawsuits over everything remotely related to old patents. Why is wholesale theft of Apple's GUI not violate copyright and patent laws? Gee, works like an iPhone, looks like an iPhone, so where's the original work?

  • You seem under the misapprehension that Apple invented either icons or touch screens. Neither of which are true...

  • but they invented the mouse :P

  • sorry mate....it was Xerox who invented the "Mouse"

  • Not an iPhone certainly, really clunky, and SLOW AS HECK, but being open source, it really has potential. Especially since you're not locked into a 2 year plan with AT&T!!

But yeah this guy... "not bad, not bad" "it does what you think it would" WAY TO SELL IT!

  • Slow? What exactly was slow? The 40 fps graphics?

I hope you're not referring to the map loading as that would be attributed to the network, not the phone.

  • I think that this presentation is aimed to the developers rather users.

The point is that every thing can be done in java language and that is good but I hope that their VM is not like the dumped sun's VM.

  • Google fanboys all over this thread. Android sucks, clearly. A Blue Dot app? World Clock?

  • wow people...please research before judging and making ignorant comments. android is an OS not a simply a phone. this is one iteration for it. the possibilities for this OS seems to be stretching farther than the iPhone as it stands

  • And your evidence for that is...?

  • for one how much of a lock down apple has with applications for the iphone/itouch. they allow developers to create programs for their system but if its something they don't like, apple maintains the freedom to pull something out whenever they feel like it. There is more room to develop for Android and with more freedom. Now which OS sounds more attractive at this point?

  • still the iPhone...

  • I'd suggest that as the Android platform is open and the iPhone platform is closed, it really speaks for itself...

  • it seems pretty slow.. im sticking to the iphone

  • This could be the greatest phone since sliced bread, but that will never get across with this dumbass presenting it.

Could they have possibly found anyone worse to showcase this?

  • This guy is horrible at introducing and showing off this phone!

No professionalism at all. And NOwhere near the keynotes presented by Steve Jobs.

That internet shown was super slow and the whole time was hard to see the actual interface of this phone.

For all the hype on this phone. I wasn't impressed at all. He didn't even show how texting/typing will work on the phone.

  • In fairness, it was running off a crappy wifi connection, not off a proper 3g one. And it was easy to see the interface of the phone, was just that I was sat near the back...

As for professionalism, he's one of the developers, he was speaking at a developer conference. What do you expect? It wasn't a media event and wasn't showing the finished product

  • just another iphone knockoff

  • good comment...for those who dont know any better.

  • Pretty much an iPhone that sucks...no thanks.

  • Another tool of mass consumer manipulation.

    Bravo

  • Another retard...

  • The only main problem people have with the IPHONE is that its locked to cingular. Every other company is trying to clone the iphone and they do a very poor job at it. Two years now and billion dollar companies have yet to match even a small portion of what the IPHONE can do and how it functions. Kudos to apple for being great in visionaries. Shame on this stupid thrown together nerd terd of an operating system.

  • WORD

  • Holy shit, this speaker is boring.

    Killed the product for me

  • sucks!!!!

  • I think iPhone has the edge because multitouch isn't an added functionality, it's the base of the whole device! And, besides, iPhone OS is just fantastic!

  • after 5 seconds i fell asleep...

and this OS isn't better than iPhone OSX...

and you have to program the apps in JAVA...OMFG... JAVA???!?!?!

google, are you crazy? java is so slow, my grandma is 100times faster at using her brain...

  • lol! iPhone rules!

  • What would you suggest? Ruby? Perl? Worse ... PHP? Java was a very logical choice. Mostly because it's got automatic memory management. One of the largest issues with developing for the iPhone is managing memory by hand. I'd suggest that you stop talking out of the side of your neck and actually do a little research (AND CODING) for both platforms. You'll see that the Google platform is far superior.

  • Snooze fest

Google is a billion dollar company, is this the best they could do??

  • This guys sounds like he has no idea what he is talking about! He sounds so lost and like he has never used this phone before! I think he talked about the cons of the phone more

  • wow that was probably the biggest waste of time ever, google if you want to create a product that can actually compete with the iphone, make it better.... duh

  • iPhone has the edge

  • This is NOTHING compared to the iPhone.

  • zzzZZZzzzZZZzz

  • after seeing this if I was Apple, I don't think I would be that worried... lot of catching up to do to beat the iPhone and even longer way to go to beat Steve Jobs Apple launch presentation.

  • FAIL

  • im falling asleep here! how did no one fall asleep in the audience! my goodness, this thing is a good try at creating yet another iphone clone, but yet again fails. once steve jobs retires he has got to teach other CEOs how to give keynotes/presentations so that we all can get through tech expos without getting bored!

  • He wasn't a CEO, he was simply one of the developers

  • @nfoo:

If a project is open source, the company and anyone who chooses may audit the source, including the users. When a project is closed source/proprietary, only the company and who they choose may audit the source, usually NOT the users.

"I hope the rulership of nerds comes to an end soon and we'll see devices that made for USERS."

With open source more often than not the programmers ARE the users, making software which isn't available or adequate as proprietary software. Common sense!

  • poor copy of an iPhone

  • true

  • That was really weak, expecting more than just some google maps and a stupid screensaver cube.

  • epic weak presentation

  • Is it multitouch?

  • Shit, just generate the simple cube in opengl..

How can we know the performance of the "NEW" phone...

  • apple have some good designs, no doubt: touch screen technology is likely to become standard on lots of portable devices in the near future. but there is also little doubt that google-originated software and hardware will be cheaper and much more versatile. I hate the way in which apple products require the use of their software and a single computer to which devices are synced

  • thank the record companies for that, not apple...

  • jockin iphone, jockin iphone!!!

  • I dunno it looks pretty sweet. And I bet you'll be able to take the battery out.

  • they present the OS-Android, not the device. The device no one knows how will looks like. There are speculations that 2-3 different devices will run Android. Among them HTC and SEricsson on a capacitive touch screen.

  • wait...isn't that an iPhone, lol kidding, but it basically is a huge copy of it....:p

  • this is going to be a smart phone. iPhone = dumb wannabe phone.

  • haha, open source iphone imitation - exactly!

  • im bored. wow you can surf the net, wow u can look at maps, wow u can move a blue dot. Well he was right about pointless. We know your making android, lots of us would love a phone with innovative and great functions but your boring us to death with all the nonsense. Whatever happened to less is more at Google?

  • This definitely appears more polished than the original "spy" videos of the HTC Dream (T-Mobile G1). iPhone imitation or not, this looks to be a promising smart-phone/platform considering its open-source nature and ability to run multiple apps at once (which the iPhone cannot do).

  • Cool Video! 5@@@@@!

  • Bardzo ciekawa sprawa jak bedzie u nas dostepny to chyba go zakupie :D

  • this is a complete copy of the iphone in every way

  • You act like Apple invented the wheel. Look at this way smartass, after this phone gets released, you and all other apple fanboys can get your "I think it's hot but it's not phone" cheaper.

  • this is pretty much an iphone, but not as sharp looking.

  • And not as expensive

And not a completely open SDK

  • will haben...

  • I will be first in line to get one.

  • i am in Shanghai ,i want to buy this

  • "I prefer the apple apps , more controlled and safer."

If you can't see the source code to audit it for security, how is that safer? If I can't see the source code, IMO it's a black box and not to be trusted.

  • OMG.

Yeah, so it's saver and better not to let a company control the software and check it for malicious behavior and instead leave it to the customer to find it out.

God, a device must be USABLE AND SAFE FOR ANYBODY.

Not for the 0.5% that can read and understand code.

Everything must be made easier and more accesible.

I hope the rulership of nerds comes to an end soon and we'll see devices that made for USERS.

  • man i can't wait for t-mobile's htc dream press release next week. i've got high hopes for android. i think the open platform should push innovation beyond what you see in iphone's app store. i just hope t-mo doesn't somehow cramp it all.

  • I WANT THIS!!!!!!!Google forever!

  • That phone... looks a Lot like my samsung instinct...

  • That's because the Samsung Instinct looks like the iPhone. The Instinct is all looks and nothing else. It's a regular phone, not a smartphone. This however is a promising smartphone platform that can be used on many devices.

  • @nerdotech man, how do you feel to know that you were right?

  • Little blue ball app look like a lot of fun

  • hahah you said blue ball

  • LOL

  • I WILL BUY IT JUST FOR BLUE BALL IT OWNS ALL OTHR APPS ON TEH IFONEZEFRZ! Whatever. It looks like a nice phone O_o

  • i think is great it that Android is an open plataform. But I still prefer the iPhone OS UI, touch screen, the ipod app and the virutal keyboard. And that HTC is too bulky, apple design is still the best.

  • wow..the blue ball!! Amazing...ahaha..The iPhone it's smarter and has better apps..And touchscreen is better

  • I will be getting this phone day 1

  • cool.want some

  • phew i though it was a actual android :p

  • Gee, looks like shit!

And why would the apps be free? Is all the apps for Symbian free? No, they are not - they cost money, and they suck big time! This is not gonna be a threat to the iPhone platform.. sorry guys.

  • You type like a bag of douche.

  • Hey, iPhone. Say hello to Google Android. I'm even MORE excited about the Android platform than I am about Objective C, and I've been programming for the iPhone for the past year almost. Google Android is a far easier platform to write for, it's much more open and less restrictive, and it's Java based. What more could you want? Dalvik Rocks. Google Android Rocks. I've got a massive coder erection right now.

  • I'm gunna use your comment for a selling point, when I sell this phone...ha..it gives developers coder erections..ha! they might just walk away from me after that though...

  • Its going to be Sweeet!!!!

    - D

We haven't seen Nothing yet, just WAIT!!!

  • is true we are waiting 8 minutes for he open but this son of bitch doesnt open

  • Apple what?

The apps are going to be free and open on this Android.

  • closed source is for sure not future. And also not even close to be as save as open source. But if you want to buy that expensive proprietary sh*t than just go on, but please stop posting your comments in a vid for a device for people with brains.

  • this video is for all..and am not I that say "Apple"..I only make a response to that comment. You wanna people getting not free to express their thoughts? I prefer the appstore now, and that's it. If you prefer other sistems (and free is not gratis..remember) you are free to do. There's no device for people with brains and device for people with no brains: this is little racism I think. Bye.

  • google rocks

  • OpenGL FTW!

  • Can't see a damn thing. Admittedly this is a developer conference but you would have thought that they would have done a better job of screen grabbing what was going on with the handset.

  • Yup, I wonder why Google isn't releasing a full quality video of this as a video response to this..

  • Because the press stuff won't be ready until T-Mobile announce it at a guess...

  • Yup, just few hours away... Will be interesting to see if Google manages to make people go crazy over each Android device the same way a few people got crazy and stood in lines for days for the iPhone.

  • I'm sorry, but nothing will beat the crowd of people the iPhone drew...

  • very impressive

  • needs to hurry up and come out !!!!!

  • Can't wait for this to start hitting mobiles!
