these tortoises are still in reasonably good numbers in Libya, there are 6 of them in my house, these tortoises are considered a good omen in Libya and found in most houses gardens where they thrive, the problem is that some people collect them from the wild and smuggle them to Egypt where they are extinct to sell to foreign tourists who have no idea how to look after them.
I'm thinking of buying an egyption tortoise! Can I ask you a few questions? Are your tortoises friendly? Do they like to be patted or held? Thank you!
