@YourFaceWillDie468 Wait a second---it was, "And sometimes I DESPAIR the world will never see another man like him." Talk about a mondegreen that missed the point completely. XD
The lone ranger wasn't a stranger, he didn't no ladies, but that Peter Parker, he was much Darker, you would never see him Dressed like a pimp. Fat as a Blimp, oh no.
Spider man... Spiiiiider Man. Does whatever a Spider can, But he was a man, oh no.
Spider man took so much garbage, when he beat up Venom and Carnage, and It's a shame, there's no one the same, oh no...
@degree7 So in the early 90s there was a big hooplah about the death of Superman--and comics with antiheroes were really popular. So I think this song is a bit of an elegy to that ideal of heroes--of a man who stays engaged with humanity and trying to make society work.
Man such a great band that hardly anybodies ever heard of...I remember hearin these songs when I was 6yrs old with my dad, and I still remember them 12yrs later.
I sing this to my little sister every night..I dont live wiht her, she lies in Texas with my dad, but I call her and sing over the phone..she loves it...as do I
OK....um, if you're thinking the world will never see another man like Mitt Romney....BOY, do you NOT get this song! This song refers to those extraordinary human heros that come along once in a lifetime, or maybe once in a millenium - like Yeshua ben Yosef maybe, or Mahatma Mohandas Ghandi. Like the Reverend Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Seriously, want more Mitt? Spend more time in No. Az and So. Co....no, seriously!
I would say this fits Mitt Romney, but he has made money....millions....but maybe that's why this would fit him, even though he has made millions he still holds to his values, unlike the current and past financial policy makers.
this song would be good at Christopher Reeve's funeral because he was the true Superman in everybody's eyes and Dana Reeve was his Lois Lane and his Wonder Woman!!
Brad's lyrics are deep (not unlike his voice!), Ellen Reid does amazing harmonies (also sings lead in Peter Punkinhead)and she's super beautiful! Also, they're Canadian (not unlike myself!). So ya, it's all good!
don't we all need a Superman now? this song is a great realisation, that Superman never made any money....but tried his best to save the world from its problems. Can't we do stuff to save our world without making money too? Think about it, and cheers from Ron
im not that old or that smart but i do know now thanks to this song, that some of the most important jobs in the world dont pay "superman never made any money saving the world from solom and grandi
It is and I'm pretty sure (considering how big of a Batman fan I am) that Soloman Grundy (who was born on a Sunday) is a Batman villian. Not to mention i just read a comic with Bats fighting Solomon...
I know I didn't. KeironsMusic used a flv converter to take my video and post it as his own. I decoded this very file (video seen above) from my VHS Symptomology of a Rockband: the Case of the Crash Test Dummies.

"And sometimes I just hope the world will never see another man like him."
An inspirational lyric. Someday I'll write a song that goes, "And sometimes I just hope the world will never see another man like me."

Such a wonderful melody!
But the song is about.... Superman and kryptonite? Not even a metaphor, but Superman and tarzan. Pssshh...This band was a bit cheesy.
degree7 1 year ago
@degree7 Its about Superman Spends his Life and hardships saving the world, Personally i think tarzan is in their to make Superman look better ;]

@degree7 Are Superman and Tarzan not metaphors in and of themselves?
JazzBlaster69 10 months ago
Why is it so incredibly rare to hear a band of songwriters who are also musicians?
I'll bet that 99.9% of bands today couldn't write and perform one song like CTD's can, nevermind an entire album's worth.
