  • @nuru0nuru I actually always thought that one of the reasons Kid A and In Rainbows are so good compared to other albums by the band because they both have excellent closing tracks (these are Motion Picture Soundtrack and Videotape, which you say were both ruined). Also, The Bends, with Street Spirit, has a very good closing song.

  • @luisrxsie

The Tourist and Life in a Glasshouse are also good

  • They did the same thing to a lesser extent with Videotape as well. I swear, the last track on their 9th album is going to be Gagging Order with a fucking kazoo accompaniment for the last minute and a half.

  • I'm not sure why they decided to ruin this song for the album. I mean it was going so well with the organ for the first part, then they just broke it. Reminds me of Plinkett's commentary on the Star Wars Special Editions... You're into the song, and then they put all this crap in the way which takes you out of it. I mean, I feel like they must've known that they absolutely wrecked it when they put it on the album. They may as well have just added fart noises for the last half.

  • @nuru0nuru youre kidding right?

  • Apparently this song was written before Creep according to Wiki. If it was, goddamn dedication to Thom for keeping this beautiful song for nearly a decade!

  • Still upset that they didn't use this version of the song to close out Kid A, would have made it equal to OK Computer in my book.

  • @_@!!!

  • that was mindblowing

  • Includes the missing verse - not hear this version for years. Awesome.

    Yes, it is Thom.

  • Anyone have the download for the basement tapes??

  • this is not thom...and you can find teh acoustic tabs for this anywhere

  • @mestayno uhm. Yes it is. I this was my favorite version of the song many many years ago, circa late 90's.

  • @mestayno of course this is thom. this is way before kid a came out, ain't heard this for years & years.

  • @mestayno You can quite clearly tell it is Thom...

  • this really makes me cry. the feeling is so real. thom <3

  • One of my favorites, and this version is even better.

  • Excuse me: What are those Basement tapes?

  • I am a little drunk but this is the first time i've heard this version with the extra verse and I am on the verge of tears.

  • Beautiful angel

    pulled apart at birth...

    limbless and helpless

    I can't even recognize you...

    i think your crazy, maybe.

  • Not a demo, it's from a radio session

  • I don't know why Thom removed the last line. It's beautiful.

  • @thehungryduck totally agree.... it really makes an already beautiful song... amazing. if you get me!!!!

  • @revolv909 I get you. It's incredible I can't get tired of this song.

  • @thehungryduck what line was removed?

  • @deandave24 I think he means the last verse in this version :-o

  • @deandave24 "Beautiful Angel, seperated at birth" line. Removed from the Kid A version. Hard to believe MPS was written around the same time as Creep.

  • Love this version, coolest thing ever.
