On July 21, 2003, a tornado tore down 11 of the bridge’s 20 structure spans. Restoration is underway and will include a glass-floored observation deck at the end of the still-standing section of the span.

@LycoValleyRRFan [Energy Products Inc. construction company is rebuilding the 24 pillars of the bridge to which the steel plates of the towers are being bolted with longer bolts.

J.D. Eckman Inc. of Atglen is general contractor for refurbishing 11 towers of the bridge, which should be done by the fall 2010... ]

I havent been able to find any more info as to when or if its done.

Another Kinzua concession passenger car is now stored in Belington, WV, and will eventually either run as part of WVCRR's New Tygart Flyer, or be incorporated into the WV Railroad Museum collection.

@CirSam It actully wasn't it was an F1 tornado but it kept bouncing up and down the bridge it would've kept standing but there was anchor bolts from 1882 that they never replaced and and Genral Kane said it would last for 100 years and they did but they were never replaced.

yep thats awsome just to bad this guy doesnt have a video of the thing actualy crossing it or them peeps were to afraid to go to the middle thats where u felt that thing work specially on a windy day. yep it was a great loss to r area and its something nobody will ever see around here again
