  • you can challenge a pc 10 years ago, yes mac wold rule, but today no way they're gona beat the PC

  • i use PC for video editing, dont want to be tied to only one software final cut (mac), ive tried alot of pc softwares and some suck! i use edius, adobe premiere and vegas and have no problems what so even, and with my highend system which i can upgrade anytime will eat a mac that dont have any option of upgrading!

  • @jbx907 Proffesionals edit with Avid and Final Cut and Adobe - all for mac.

  • If you say "get the top of the line mac pro and vs it against a top of the line pc" then the ultimate mac pro would set you back a wopping £14,000 not includeing any monitors, a top of the line pc built with editing in mind would set you back £10,000 not includeing monitors, if both machine were running premier pro cs5.5 then the pc would uterly thrash the mac + all of the components in the pc are much hirer specs + much faster, so whats your argument for the mac then ?

  • @LegoBoyLucFireAlarm i totally agree, if mac was so superior, why did they shift to pc cpus today, why didn't they just make a G10 cpu instead!

  • @jbx907 what? it was never about the hardware - it was functionality and performance as an operating system...

  • ha ha ha! I don't care if I am using a piece of software called "Dave's got a hairy back" if its the best piece of software. I agree

  • What dock is that, how do I get all my icons separated like how you have all your adobe together.

  • I actually can run Mac software on my PC using Hackintosh Snow Leopard with VMware. But Mac is still better than Windows when it comes to video editing.

  • @utuber3231 what is better when you're phased out in a couple of years, you stuck with your specs maybe perminently or need to buy a new mac

  • @jbx907 Well for you're own personal uses it would be ok. But if you want to find a video editing or music production job at a major company you will need a Mac because it is the industry standard. Mac's can also run any PC software since you can legally run Windows on a virtual machine.

Also people who own Macs are usually people who do editing jobs full time and they usually switch their Macs yearly anyway.

  • The guy that made this video is clearly retarded. If anything, he has owned himself by making this video when its full of his uneducated comments. This is why PC users get bored with arguing with mac users as they really haven't got a clue, hence why they bought the "pretty computer in the corner" instead of having the intelligence to do some research first.

  • Premiere Pro is fucking beast. Both Mac and PC can run Premiere Pro which in my books makes them equal.

  • danonabouncycastle

Why did your screen recording software fuck up at the end?

It is tupid to mention emeek77/applesoldier since my $600.00 PC put his Mac Pro to shame. I suggest you watch some of my videos if you realy want to educate yourself.

  • @adobePC The video is not about saying macs are better for video editing, its about saying how bias the article is. I like PC's too. dont get me wrong.

  • @danonabouncycastle

    That is cool.

  • a fast pc beats a mac in everything

    even video ediitting\

the only program you have better is final cut pro

evrything else is made for both

btw i can run you programs VMWare is also made for pc so i can run leopard or lion or any mac operating system

  • @shomosnicholas5 You cannot legally run OSX apps on PC. Therefore making it unviable in a professional environment.

  • @danonabouncycastle again most proffesional video editting programs i.e Adobe After effects come out for both pc & mac

  • @danonabouncycastle There is nothing illegal about running OSX on you're PC hardware. Piracy is illegal, but if you own a retail copy of OSX and can install it on your PC there is no law (at least in the UK) to stop you. Violation of an EULA (which is a contract) is not the same as breaking a law.

  • @danonabouncycastle Also, you are wrong about dual socket motherboards not supporting DDR3, even back in 2009 when you posted this vid you could easily get dual socket DDR3 boards, I've had an ASUS Z8NA board for nearly 2 years now, it supports DDR3, and can even use 6-core X5600 Xeons, long before they were supported on a Mac Pro. Newer boards like the EVGA SR2 support things like 4-way SLI, USB 3.0, E-SATA and many other features not yet on Mac.

  • @shomosnicholas5 let me prove how mac is better first of all imovie!!! is better than any pc software except for sony vegas and final cut express is better than ULEAD or vegas pro final cut express can own and pc software!!!

  • @josephzein iovie is compared to movie maker all the time and almost always movie maker is superior plus its free also the main video editting software is adobe after effects which is also on PC (aswell as all adobe products which mac users seem to forget) so you need to get your facts straight

  • @shomosnicholas5 After effects is a program for VFX not editing. And the most used editing software is Final Cut Pro and Avid like this guy said in the video. You should also learn to spell.

  • a fast pc beats a mac in everything

    even video ediitting\

the only program you have better is final cut pro

evrything else is made for both

  • a fast pc beats a mac in everything

    even video ediitting

  • @shomosnicholas5 Nope I've never met better PC than Mac and I build PC's for living. You think that you have better computer, but run about 29 or 30 other programs on PC while editing video and you see what I mean

  • Does adobe premiere pro work for Mac?

  • @silversobe yes

  • @silversobe yep.

  • If there is a Xeon workstation out there faster than the top Mac Pro I do not know, but you still have to buy it or you won't get any of its "kick-ass speed".

  • @EpiphonicMedia It seems raw price tags are an obsession...

  • Can someone tell me if i can run Motion smoothly on a mac mini 2010 unibody? or is an imac/ macbook pro better?

  • pc is better for video editing. resolved.

  • what mac do you have? and how much was it?

  • @ADJACKSON07 Macbook Pro intel core 2 duo 2.4 ghz with 4gb ram. It cost me about 1,400

  • @danonabouncycastle 1400 dollars or pounds?

  • @ADJACKSON07 pounds

  • @danonabouncycastle wow dude, I could get for that amount of money a sixcore, like 32gigs of ram, 64 bit OS, a supreme graphics card, and after that I would just make my case look super awesome, and yet still have money left.

  • @ADJACKSON07 The subject is video editing, not initial price...

  • woo, slow done a min, i do a lot of video editing, i currently use a pc with sony vegas pro 8, i hope to become a top video editor when i get my qualifications. but you say this guy is biased you biased about macs. I do own a mac, i have a Macbook what i go for xmas so im pretty new to mac but and also there are so many things i cant run on my mac cause they are only for pc. now you say you can by getting another kit of software to allow it while pc dont need mac software when it is out for pc

  • @OakridgeProductions9 I am just sticking up for the mac. On PC, you cannot run Final Cut, Logic, Pro Tools, Shake and more... On Mac you can run everything using bootcamp or VMware or Parallels.

  • @danonabouncycastle so like i said, you have to get other software to run pc software while pc already has the software available what is the same program or a variant of it. This is one of the main fact why pc is so dominant as pc has everything you need while mac you have to find software aka bootcamp, buy windows then buy the software you want just for it to run while windows all you need is the software as windows comes with every pc

  • your right the the guy that wrote that knows nothing and did not use his research.

I'm a PC guy who will also agree about all the rest including the 3D stuff.

  • Having a macbook air, the new desktop mac and a dell inspiron and HP touchsmart. I feel that as much as i see your point about mac, yours is a bias response. I think it is what programme you use, not what system it is on.

  • Looking back on it, my response was a bit biased. The idea though, was mainly to counterbalance the author's biased view. You are right, it is now completely down to quality of editor as opposed to quality of software.

  • :P dan, i have a dell and my inbuilt video never does what your just did :P other that a very intreesting video :P

  • never does what?

  • the thing where your face appears lol i need to send you the link to an article i have found, you'll find it amusing

  • send it through a yt private message

  • to my oppioion Mac sucks ass. All my schools I went to have Mac and they all had problems. Then I moved out of state and they use PC. I'm actually happy because I don't have to use Mac anymore. Plus there prices tremendous !!!

  • When it comes to schools, usually they don't take good care of their systems, probably due to the amount of computers their techs have to take care of. PC is more rampant due to the price as I've recently learned Mac caters to the top-end financial groups hence their prices.

  • pc fanboy

  • I might be a PC fan boy. But I bet your a Mac fan boy also.

I just think Mac totally sucks for it price. I wouldn't buy a mac if I could.

  • i have a pc and a mac bro... dats right get owned i ever said anything about a mac dat would make me a fanboy

  • I have to say the battle between Mac and PC has been raging ever since both choices rose up. The line of difference between the two has begun to blur over the ages, considering PC can use Mac Software (Using VMWare and other software aka "Hackintosh") and the Mac can use Windows software via dual-boot installation. There is no better. It's preference nowadays.

  • true, but it is illegal to run mac os x in vmware on a pc. you have to have an apple macintosh to run os x legally.

  • I agree whereas Windows got to number 1 because they actually allow burned copies of their OSes everywhere just so they CAN say they are number 1. Bit sad really.

  • Dave's got a hairy back XD This video is awesome!!!

  • omg that guy has no idea what he was talking about he is a noob macs rule
