Unsafe Use of Extended-Release Tussionex Suspension (May 08)

I was diagnosed with a lower right lung pneumonia condition. This (10mg hydrocodone version) was prescribed to me, and it makes me feel absolutely wonderful. After 3 nights of hell I was finally able to sleep last night. The bottle has very clear instructions, and I could see if you didn't shake the bottle properly that the dosage wouldn't be consistent....READ THE DIRECTIONS AND DON'T ABUSE THE MEDICATION!!! Once every 12 hours is PLENTY!

I think any opiate is safe for a child as long as it is not overdone, there is no reason why a child couldn't take an opiate, you just have to make sure the dose isn't too high

I wish they'd come out with a 20-40mg dose Extended Release (Hydrocodone) tablet for pain. The regular ones only work for 2-3 hours max and are too fucking addictive. I do like them better than percocet (oxycodone) for some reason though. The new Oxycontin OP (Oxycodone extended relief) is terrible. It doesn't seem as strong as the old version and gives me a terrible burning from throat down to stomach. (Post surgery)

yit has 10mg but its time release so it is not as strong as people make it out to be. hycodan is the way to go. 5mg but instant release

I remember my doctor prescribing this to me and I figured it was basically similar to NyQuil and took way too much and I was dizzy as hell and fell right asleep.

There is definitely oxy in Tussinex that requires prescription. The over the counter version does not!!

There is no oxy in it. It clearly says hydrocodone. It is a schedule 3, while oxycodone a schedule 2. Also in some states you can get Cheratussin AC without a prescription, pt has codeine in it and you are limited to 120ml bottle every two weeks to 4 weeks. There is liquid oxycodone, but it isn't for coughs and is used in very severe cases.

Tussionex has Hydrocodone, not oxy... and there is no over-the-counter version of Tussionex.

there telling the truth, hydrocodone is the narcotic ingredient in tussin x not oxy, oxy is like Oxycontin and oxycodone, just because it had codone at then end does not make hydrocodone oxy codone, the codone is just a type of method to make it, hydrocodone is a more refined codeine while oxy codone is derived from thebaine of the opium poppy, so no there not the same, they are both opiates but chemically different, codone was the family they are both in to make the substance such as refluxing

tussionex doesn't have hydrocodone? it used to have hydrocodone resins which was even stronger thanregular hydro. before 1991. It was very addictive

Just because it is discontinued does not mean that there is none left. Some places still carry it but companies are no longer permitted to produce this preparation and send it to pharmacies, fuckface.
