The Union victory in 1865 gave the feds free run to do whatever they want. So very true. Look at John Polk. He failed King Lincoln in the battle of 2nd Manassas so what did King Lincoln do? Well he sent him to the Mid-West. That was in 62 during the "uprising" as the Federal government called it. Seven Sioux tribes "jumped" their reservations because of impending famine, there was nothing to hunt. After being chased and hunted like animals and their women and children shot. They did begin doing some of the same to settlers in the area.
When Lincoln realized Polk couldn't suppress Confederate forces, thus the Southern people. He sent him to "deal" with the "other" "insurrection" in the North. If he couldn't win battles and oversee mass rape and destruction in the South Lincoln apparently thought he could in the North. Typical. They just want food for their children and what do they get? Massacred. Whole tribes. Over 700 Lakota (mostly women and children) were found from Minnesota streching into the Dakotas.
