I don't understand why he didn't use the ride and had already pre-programmed that in. I mean, I know he actually played it, but if you notice there isn't a ride cymbal on this kit, yet he looks like he is playing it. Why is that?

A reliable source informed me that he would overdub one or more cymbals (and sometimes all cymbals) in the past so they wouldn't bleed with the snare/kicks/toms.

lamb of god are amazing - chris adler is a cybernetic organism: living tissue over a metal endoskeleton. wonder how they're cutting in and out of the takes - at 2:00 chris stops, but the set pattern keeps going, and again at 2:17 - it's like there's a background track that they're trying to swap out with what chris plays over it when he gets it. anybody have any idea?

@tatsumakisenpukyaku you've got the right concept. it's just getting the drums tighter and fine tuning where it needs to be. not necessarily over the whole track, but parts that are felt to have room for improvement.

The one thing Lamb of God can afford to be that ANY other metal band can't is be nice. Their music is so frickin' beastly that metal bands today don't have shit on them based on the sheer technical genius in their songs. So being nice doesn't actually hurt their image, because they still own every metal band out there.
