Thanks, Kurt. Looking back(I've been watching since episode 1) you have reviewed a wide variety of games, even thugh you have a few favorites(don't we all). I'm not the big BRP or Cortex fan, but your reviews are always entertaining and that's what counts. That and exposing one's mind to new games. And playing them. And enjoying them. And expecting the Spanish Inquisition
We've said before we review what we have. Lately, we've been geting a lot from Pinnacle, Triple Ace, etc. I also had Pathfinder in there, as well as A song of Ice and Fire, etc. I've backed off a lot of requests because the future of Game Geeks was unclear for a while. Now, I understand that variety is the spice of life and all that, and we DO have some non-SW products in the queue, this is what I have in hand right now to review.
The gentleman can freely review whatever he pleases, but I wish he'd remember games exist beyond Savage Worlds. Second, why compare science fiction themes to television shows? He doesn't do that for fantasy, and even mentions honest-to-goodness literature for the genre.
Thanks for reviewing games, sir, but I have better things to do than subscribe.
Kurt's been reviewing a lot of SW, due to that is what he's buying and playing now. If we don't have the game we can't review them, if you would like a game reviewed you might want to ask the company that produces it. I do write companies that are requested when time permits and we are working with producers and such to get new systems. We are also looking at reviewing older classic gaming systems from our youth.
He has said before that he doesn't review games he doesn't like (except 4e that is). He has also said he prefers rules-lite games. Maybe this is why no Shadowrun review. At the end of the day he has to enjoy what he does and i really appreciate the passion he displays whilst reviewing the games he enjoys.
All that being said I'm a SW fan so maybe I'm not one to talk :)
I have nothing really against the SW stuff. I just wish the reviews of SW stuff would be more spread out. As it is it's like every second review is SW product. But your right he has said he will review what he likes and while i may not agree with all his reviews I enjoy most of them.
Solid review Kurt, I was looking for something to throw at my players for something different. Its nice to see Savage Worlds getting the mileage that the system deserves. Thanks.
Change the names!? Please! If I'm putting orc into a sci-fi setting, I'm calling them orcs! I've got players who were into Warhammer 40k at one point, so they'd find it funny.
Kinda like that. I've mostly played on D20, ranging from D&D, Spycraft, D20 Modern and homebrewed games. I've played a lot of WoD, but the one gaming group I was with refuse to play the new setting. I think I just convinced a group of friend on trying out Pathfinder, so that should be interesting. From other systems I've also played a bit of Lord of the Rings, and the old Star Wars games, and Paranoia.
you wanna check out Savage Worlds for Free? Pinnacle Entertainment Group has a nice sampling of their rules called Test Drive. You simply download it from their website, along with their "one-sheet" adventures, and you can jump right in to see how you like the game.
And if you want, you can just up and buy Savage Worlds (current edition is $20 US for an actual book. much cheeper than any D&D/AD&D product)
The Explorers guide is $10- one of the best values on the market. All the "Explorers Edition" stuff- Necessary Evil, Fantasy Companion is $20, so there is a LOT of value in their stuff. A great Business model in my opinion.

You know I have to say that while I can understand and respect his desire to make this videos about games he likes it shows when he really likes the game he comes more in depth. Constrast this review to the Pathfinder review no comparison. That being said he is getting me more interesting in Savage Worlds so I might get the core book for it. Enough though with lashing out at the 4E fans. The more you do it Kurt the more you less you crediability with some of the viewing public.
A Farscape Game?!?! That is astounding! haha. i dont think i have the time or desire to convert something to farscape, but in theory it sounds like a lot of fun. you know you could also give a quick review of some of the savage one sheets, and give your opinion on how well they represent the games, and which ones would be good to introduce the system to people.
Care to review the new Earthdawn 3rd edition books from Mongoose?

We got similar complaint earlier that we did too many World of Darkness reviews, and I had two Cortex reviews in a row (oh the horror!).
We strive for diversity, but we also work with what we have and what companies will work with us.

Hey, I heard a Cthulhu book came out for Savage Worlds? What do you know about this?

All 25 episodes are now up at the Youtube channel GameGeeksRPG and will be up on the web site soon.
The best part about re-listing the episodes are they are all in a much higher quality than before.

While I know he likes SW I do wish he would review Shadowrun 4E, Earthdawn 3E and other rpgs. Kind of getting tired of hearing just about SW.

I second that the Explorers guide is the best value on the market. I bought mine yesterday and it was well worth it.
That being said could you knock off the anti-4E comments. They were funny at first now not so much and it serves you nothing by doing so.

"Just bring the fantasy races over and change the name." Why not? Games Workshop has been getting away with it for twenty some years with 40k.
Interesting review, I might follow up on this.

I'm starting to get curious about Savage Worlds, ever since the review of HellFrost. Then again, I'm also thrilled about Pathfinder, too.
And, come on, I'm a 4e fan and I don't intend to cause anyone bodily harm! I have a "Play and let Play" policy.

"Lashing out"?
Yes, what a bitterly excoriating comment that was. Why, I dare say some fans felt faint after receiving that dreadful tongue lashing.
