  • The Making of Cinemaphobia Part 1

    youtube.com/watch?v=9urjbVDX_50&feature=related

  • Nightmarish . . . Brilliant . . . SPECTACULAR!!!

  • This video will always be remembered.

  • Pretty forgettable compared to her previous videos. She's so outlandish, I'd have though they would have attempted to do this with live action, instead of the ridiculously common route they chose of CG. People arent impressed anymore, even when it's world-class CG work. But this same basic concept done with miniatures and low-tech methods, would have been memorable. This, will be gone by lunchtime. At least some of the elements were indeed real. But the CG backgrounds are lame.

  • @eggbertsmith You do realize people have to work with budgets and time constraints...

  • this shows how handcrafted costumes are actually more impressive than 3d computer stuff. shhh but don t tell anyone...

  • it was totally worth it tho!!

id do anything for my queen bjork

  • seems like so much effort, for so little notoriety of video

  • there's something "never ending story" ish akin here... very nice.

  • I love the physicality of puppets and claymation. I respect new advances in digital animation but I miss Puppetry.

  • dang looks like a behind the scenes video for a major motion picture.

  • I love how, in this hi-tech age with it's proliferation of super-shiny CGI, a team of crafts-persons worked so hard to produce some amazing results. Maybe many hands make light work, but in this case, they also make magic. It's such a wonderful video with a real sense of freedom and adventure, thus capturing the spirit of the song perfectly. The word "fantastic" springs to mind, in both senses.

  • Date a Asian lady # lushfmlk.info #

  • definitely my favorite bjork song and video, altho i really love them. But this in particular has so much to say not only in its lyrics but also in the symbols within the video. Very well done.

  • Bjork could make a feature film (musical) simply stringing together many/all of her most creative videos (adding a little footage like this from each production clip) and a bit of fodder. It would be an EPIC cult film.

This video has to be inspired by some Icelandic folklore something. The scenery is so Icelandic

  • @bintasyllah Icelandic scenario? Icelandic folklore? Oh, ofc... There are yaks, Japanese demon-like gods and Mongolian hats in Iceland...

  • @kevinpuja lol...the farm animals (and small hills) in Iceland all resemble yaks. Perhaps you've not been to Iceland, as you wouldn't have been confused by my comment. Iceland is otherworldly in a way that far exceeds the diversity of the (breathtaking) rural lands of Japan. Some of the traditional housing in Iceland resemble your 'Mongolian' hat. Perhaps Asia is her inspiration, but the scenery & feel is STRIKINGLY Icelandic and variations of the hat are unique to peoples worldwide. ;-D

  • QUE PADRE VIDEO NOS REGALARON Y QUE TRABAJO YO QUISIERA SABER ¿CON QUE MATERIAL HACEN LAS PIELES DE LOS BISONTES?

  • Amazing and clever...great video indeed.....5/5..!!

  • this is my favorite bjork music video.

    her visions are surreal <3

  • wooow its killing me

  • Amazing! Such a well-crafted video in every aspect! I love seeing stuff like this- very inspiring.

  • Took a lot of work.. good to see someone actually create art with music than just flail around like some moron.

  • girl at 0:05 looks like a younger björk

ok i'm going back to play with my clay :D

  • how is your clay?

  • very good!, thank you, and you?

  • My clay is fine and so am I.

  • qoolgrrl it might be neptune, he was god of the sea, just a thought tho.

  • what is the creature there making at 1:45 to 1:52

please, i need to know i had a dream of it coming out of the ocean or whatnot, a few years ago.

  • i sware ive seen it before aswell !!!

i was like whoa when it came up

  • it reminds me a bit of Aku from Samurai Jack if you watchd that show that might be where you're getting it from?

  • @chrisshenzo

thats exactly what i was thinking!!!!

so i did a little research:

hes a demon with fiery eyes, his name must never be spoken, and hes kinda like akuma (a japenese demon of terror)

hes somewhat related to "Him" from the powerfuff girls

  • WOW! I thought it was all some form of combination of 3D and video, but this! So much work been put into it!

  • i love how creative bjork is!

    a real inspiration to me!

    this is awesome!

  • Does anybody know who is the director of this wonderful video?

  • Amazing!³

  • What Version of the Song is it?

    AWESOME!

    Thanks!

  • i think it's just the song without the vocal track.

  • what was so unnecessary???

    it's just a music video???

this is art man and if you cannot understand it don't watchi as there are million of people interested on this.

  • gorgeous!!!!

  • wow that must have cost a fotune to to do, but the end result was amazing. i wish i had a job like that

  • woooooooow. this is how. this is how.

  • Wow, that is amazing!

  • Amazing!

  • geez I really don't think the videos from Volta (though I LOVE the album) are anywhere near as good as her previous stuff....

  • AAAAAAHHH!!! Could this be any more amazing!?!?!?!?

  • no. only bjork :)

  • wow....thats amazing how they did it

  • One of the best videos of this decade!!!!!!

  • Amazed! When I saw the video for the first time, I found it so oniric! The song is definitely awesome too. I wonder how some artist come up with such brilliant visual ideas. For me, Björk stays in the lead.

  • I don't get it..many people find the song and video scary in a good way, but the song and video doesn't scare me at all.

And yet for some reason, watching how the video is MADE along with the instrumental version of Wanderlust playing in the background really scares me..in a good way, of course.

But wow... I don't get it! Still love Bjork though <3

  • I love this song and video. It always comes on in the wee hours of the morning and I love watching, it is so visually stunning but I love the song also.

  • awesome, 10x for sharing

  • crazy. i thought except of björk (of course) it was all cgi

  • Cool instrumental. Does anyone know the title?

  • ...Wanderlust, the Instrumental?

I'd sure love to find it somewhere.

  • bloody hell, i really respect the makers of this video! it looks fantastic and the concept is amazing as well. really really wonderful I am so glad this video was created. wonder who directed it..

  • I actually went to school with one of the makers of this video. I don't know who it is exactly, lol. But my friend's art teacher was saying that they went to the same highschool before they went to the college that taught them how to do all this designing.

  • Oh not only that, design, CG, colourist, cutter editors, sound mixing. make artists, wardrobe designer, storyboard artists, chroma key painters location of that huge ass set, colour lighting, director, vx supervisor, stereocopic material. and a whole nother 15 people.Bjork is the last person they needed in the video.I can tell they spent a good 500 000 USD on this video ALONE.

  • what is a a usd

  • @cannoir really? Seriously? I her videos are [obviously] always on a totally different level, but .5 mil?

  • Bintah its 500 thousands.but then they have to pay at least15 ppl on top of it and the fees are high as hell. so the sum will be doubled and this only if their budget is tight.

Binta you have the exact same name as one my close relatives.

Bjoerk's videos are always something of an art.I didn't even need to like the songs to enjoy her vids

  • @cannoir thanks for the info, but .5 mil meant 1/2 million. I too can watch Björk's work without loving every single song. In fact, I'll finish watching the Drawing Restraint 9 film today -Fascinating. If you have a family member, with my same name, and it is a true name. Then your family can originate from only one place, in one location on this planet. Itan, I kilixi minde? So on that note, Inuwali.

  • what is the material used to craft those things? is it latex?

  • It looks more like clay actually

  • there was some highly talented professionals making that alright.. amazing work. and go björk!

  • I had to pick my jaw up from the floor, wow, this is amazing!

  • incredible O_O

  • Genial el trabajo...y el video es hermoso!!!

  • Es la mejor! es única!!!! Björk te amo!!! ^^

  • god bless these people...

  • gorgeous!!!!

  • OMG!! I thought this was all animated by computer.

I can't believe the majority of these figures were handcrafted.

That is incredible! Much respect to Bjork and her creative team.

Not my favority video, in the least. But still, Amazing!

  • gotta love bjork and gotta respect the team that worked so hard to achieve something truly unique and ground-breaking when so many music videos out there just show some woman with flying hair and bouncy cleavage lip-synching to some other tune that sounds like any other tune. well done to the production team!

  • :O.AMAZING! STUPENDOUS! Reminds me of giant bison from some of my dreams lol.

  • @pokemonmaster17

the water thing was in a lot of my dreams as well!!!!

(if that was what you were talking about)

  • GENIOS

  • holy shit.. this is amazing, how long did it take to film????

  • wow, it goes to show you how much work really goes into to something like this.

  • genialisimo¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

    el medio trabajo.....

  • i thought thats just animated.....omg..wow

  • sooooo cool!!

  • so cool

  • Any idea where to find that instrumental version of wanderlust? is it in the single?

  • holy shit, i thought those things where miniatures! i can't believe they sculpted them fullsize! wow. this is absolutely awesome! i love this video, thank you

  • Does anyone know if the video available on iTunes with the single is the 3D version???

  • wow !

    .. it's like making a movie , isn't it ?!

i've always been interested and wondered about how this amazing video was made and this has answered my questions ! thanks for posting !

    xx

  • YAK!!! :D

  • verrüüüückt laaannn

  • perfect

  • U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-A-B-L-E!

She has got such an imagination! And the video fits the song well. And the music... Björk is an art herself.

  • I wonder what the budget was for this production?

  • hehe no not really... =D

  • $130,000 roughly

  • this video is amazing

  • amazing!

  • two thumbs up for them!

  • GOOD WORK!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wish i had not have watched this. Its a bit like when Blade Runner-The Final Cut came out. I watched the making of it and after all those years of loving the movie ( still do ) it took a lot of the magic away because knowing how it was done took away that mystery. Not knowing how this video was done, and not knowing that there are people beneath those costumes .etc.. makes the experience 10 times greater. Now when i watch video from Bjork, i won't be as amazed by it or captivated.

  • @blade004 While I very much appreciate her work and will continue to watch it, I do understand what you're saying. Even though the animals were [obviously] fake, they seemed very real. Caring. Understanding. As they were in fact alive.

  • i am leaving this harbour

    giving urban a farewell

its habitants seem to keen on God

I cannot stomach their rights and wrongs

  • wow

  • most influential .

  • WOW. prop and set designers..good to know that hasnt completely died out, especially these days. LOL

  • THIS IS AWESOME!!! I totally cannot wait to see this video! It's one of my favorite songs from her album and so far from what I can see, it reminds me a little bit of Princess Mononoke! Also I would love to do that kind of thing for a living, the creature effects!

  • How many vids has Bjork done now? Truly a pioneer. No one can compare in her authentic bravery.

  • @gab3334 I think Michael Jackson can, it's just different. I don't mean to compare their styles at all. I just think that they are very uniquely talented.

  • i was actually a small part of this, i helped put the hair on the yak and do some of the clay sculpting and landscape painting and foam carving. it was fun, hot but at least i got to see Bjork during the filming. she was quite a trooper acting in an all felt costume in 90 degree heat with only a few fans to cool off.

  • That sounds like fun! Do you have a background in special effects?

  • Great!!

  • Estoy tan ansioso de ver el video, se nota que va a ser sorprendente

  • lo es de hecho!! para mi uno de los mejores de Ella!!

  • how's the name of that movie wich protagonize Björk?

  • dancer in the dark

  • amazing to see how it was put together....but where is Bjork!!!! lol

  • tanto trabajo!!

    So much work!!

  • The talented guys at "Encyclopedia Pictura".

  • who directs?
