pity fighting games are becoming less realistic by the year...it would do people well to learn how to properly handle a sword, or at least see how it is handled real...rather than having lightning fast moves which even without sword would not be possible.

@gaoth88 it's a video game, seeing as how pretty much you're imagination is you're only limit when designing games. Making everything too realistic would be a waste of creativity and potential.

They have plenty of realistic games, but I like how stylized Hironobu Sakaguchi's games are.

Graphics isn't the most important part of a video game, IMO. Oh, sure, it's like the icing on the cake and you can't go wrong with something being pleasing to the eyes but it's not why I buy my games. I know of plenty of games on much older consoles that are far better than XIII. For graphics that were slightly(and I do mean slightly) less perfect than XIII, LO didn't sacrifice its story, characters, or gameplay. Good for Mistwalker.

@dcopymope i gotta disagree, I believe rpg can get boring but it requires alot more strategy than people give it credit for. If you know what your doing game can be really easy but if you push same button over and over again you will get ass kicked everytime at least in good turn based games. Besides I got lost odysess not for fighting but what I found very entertaining story and highly underrated. now big planet that is a waste of time and not good waste either like mario :)

@dcopymope Yes, but SquareEnix did an excellent job making Lost Odyssey turn based. And if it was an action game, it wouldn't have been 100+ hours big with all the sidequests. And by the way, the music owns every other God Of War game out there millions of times. Easisly one of the 10 best games i've ever played. The story is amazing too. They game was very eliborate unlike many other games out there. If the game was bad why would they even bother making the game so big ?

I don't think it has really been confirmed. I'm pretty sure that they were planning a spiritual successor to this game earlier, but it was canceled because Lost Odyssey didn't do as well as they wanted to. But for whatever reason, they're making a second Blue Dragon game.

This game was great until after the opening cutscene. Its incredibly slowpaced and as much as i love the turn based system, the loading times and the slow pace of everything just took the fun out of the. I got rid of it about an hour into the 2nd disc. The visuals are great but the game sucks.

Also... if you like reading, the thousand years of dreams stuff in game is awesome, they really help flesh the game out... even if they are only side things.

And if you buy it, try installing the 4th disc as soon as you get home... there are lots of reports of a faulty 4th disc. :/ mine was one of them... luckily I got it replaced as soon as possible.

Very long, and is actually challenging.

The storyline is awesome, there are plenty of little plot twists. The game doesnt seem slow and it doesnt feel like a mindless grinding game like some other RPG's out there.

I dont know if I would spend full price on it though... Just because im a student, and I need my moneys :)
