What spring is in your tial q? I just got one from AMS and I think it has the 11psi spring in it factory. Mine flutters a lot more at lower boost. Thinking it's compressor surge...
@Marshmallowrex How is synapse better than the next product? Just because of their comparison videos? Nope and guess what, they rig those videos so the tial has a super tight spring. Never had an issue with my tial q no matter how much boost I'm pushing.
Really like the sound of it, looking at getting one on my 34 its currently getting a build done and was running the hks ssqv3 but as cool as it is it cant be adjusted and im kinda getting over the sound anyway...what was the exact tial name of this one and can it be adjusted because id love that sound up high but have some flutter down low..and before all you 'professionals' start going off about compressor surge im well aware so dont be a hero the t04z im putting on is more than equipped
@driftNW lol you look pretty stupid now mate as 12psi isnt even 1 bar...and he would easily be running what he says he was just from that launch when it comes on boost, stop being a fucking troll and watch in silence if your going to be a moron ffs
False. the stock bov for the stock turbo is not the best. It still has many flaws. Many aftermarket bov's have better reaction time and more pressure release capacity. but i do agree that a tial is not needed for a turbo that small. but it works and is damn sexy. Ill try to get video of my 6262 with tial soon. and description forgot to mention the FMIC.
Sounds great, I have a question though, I have a civic and I turboed it and I'm using a tial 50mm, anyway question is... Is it supposed to be open at idle? Mine stays open at idle, I have no problem with it cuz everything functions correctly, just wondering about it, I tap on the gas and it shuts instantly and opens as soon as I let off..
It's different on two gauges a mechanical one it's around 18, and on a electrical one it's at 21 I'm using the uncolored spring right now and it stays open at idle
How did you run the Tial without part throttle issues? and you say its tuned for it but who tuned the car? I would like to know cause I will call them up b/c my 8 DV is not holding 25 psi worth crap and I would really like to run a tial but I have had VTA before and it did not work I was hitting load cells into the 300 because the car was dumping fuel in.
It does sound awesome but... it is tru. a stock turbo does not rate a Tial BOV. there is no better BOV than the stock one for the Stock turbo. i had to put the stock one back on until i got my HTA35r turbo installed. Hope to see a HTA35r on yours soon. you will not be disappointed.
Who cares what it sounds like? This bov holds five times the amount of boost the stock diverter valve can. If you care about sound then get one of those electronic boxes that make noise when you let off the gas.
uh dude, dont get your panties in a bunch. This is a video to show us what it sounds like am I right? If it were just about the specs then you would just post a spec sheet right?
neither evo's or wrx/STI's should be running Blow of valves... they need to be recirculated unless running a bigger turbo.... but if you insist on running a BOV, the TIAL is the best one without leaks
@Epix182 its impossible to "tune" a car running a MAF thats placed before the turbo to run a VTA blow off valve..... the only way to tune for this would be to run speed density or run a blow- thro MAF set-up. if you run this set-up, it doesnt matter what turbo your on, the car will run perfect
Good video man! I keep telling a few of the guys about this BOV. There had been a misconseption about the sound of that and the HKS bov for a long time. Anyway, nice EVO man.
i have the tial on mine with the nine lb spring. im still using stock ecu and maf. i put it on for now cause here in a couple months im converting to speed density. u can vta with bov's with stock turbo and stock ecu. as long as you are tuned with it, and ur cpu isnt mis calculating for air intake that the maf is accounting for, its not a problem.
I'm guessing you mean expensive? If you still have a stock turbo, then there's no reason to get a bov. At most just get the stiffer spring for it. I forgot who makes it. If you're getting an aftermarket turbo, then don't cheap out on the bov.
you mean if your on the stock ecu right, with the stock maf b/c youre just another srt4 owner w/o a clue as to how a motor or ecu work, g/l with your neon lol
The springs for the tial bov aren't rated for psi. The different springs are for keeping the bov open @ idle. This bov will hold whatever boost you throw at it. Since its not my car just as I stated in the description that no one reads, I couldn't tell you which spring is in it.
yeah. I'm putting 50 trim in it and looking for one right now..... there are two bov i'm choosing from Tial and TurboSX. TurboSX have some great reviews. and couple of my buddies have it in their car, no problems. But i'm still contemplating which one to get.....
Can this bov be recirculated?

why do people say tial sucks, when Tial 9/10 is the BOV most turbo drag cars use?
