Boy whatever happened to those stereos? I got a Sony stereo now, and I love it, don't get me wrong. But I'd still like to go back to old school sometimes, back when stereos were stereos. NICE!!!
That system looks almost identical to a Fischer system my next door neighbor had, both must have been made by the same company. I was soooo jealous of his system.
I used to work at Radio Shack long ago and that exact system we had on the sales floor.
It was by far one of the loudest stereos I have ever heard with a 200 watt amplifier. Perhaps not audiophile grade, but the damn thing was dance floor loud. It was a perfect party system.
If I recall the speakers were extremely efficient.. 95+ dB at one watt.
That's what they used to mean by "Can I have your stereo?" when you were dying. Not some stupid piece of shit i-pod docking station or mini 3 disc stereo system like they have now.
@silvercityblue I miss seeming them in ppl's houses back in the 90s. Eversince the advent of surround sound I started to see less of those cool stereos.

I don't know why people like iPod docks. I (Well, my sister) had one, POS, died with in a few months of use.
My iPod dock is a vintage stereo with 3 large pairs of speakers.

It was a great sounding system from back when Radio Shack was decent. The amp was 100W per channel and was quite heavy.

I had it listed on Ebay for $50 and got no bids, so I let it go for $30 to a local buyer. Hopefully they enjoy it.
