  • Nice. My fathers friend has a 1911 prototype that was made in 1910. It is extremely rare

  • thanks man for the history oorah

  • is there a way to tell what serial range went to the Marines. i have a 1911 and always wondered if it went to the Marines

  • @steelrain812002 Yes, some can be identified.

  • @TheArmoryGuild I hear ya! I have to use two cloths as I clean the guns. One cloth to wipe the guns and the other to wipe the drool from the corner of mouth.

    thanks for watching!!!

  • That pistol is beautiful! That new camera takes awesome vid.

  • absolutely amazing pistol!

  • ewfinished! i was about to say someone put pistol in a desk for 70+ years!

  • Did you refinish it or was it a government refurb?

  • That camera is AWESOME!!! Great video. The gun is in absolute beautiful condition. You are a very good speaker and know what you are talking about, not just ranting! Makes your videos much more interesting!!!!! Keep it up!

  • That thing looks perfect - brand new. Amazing.

  • Holy Grail of Pistols.. that 1911 right there is delicious...

I would be scared out of my mind of rusting it just by touching it.

What did you do to that pistol after being done filming?

Silicone cloth, some type of gun oil, what?

  • @TheHiddenPart Flannel cloth with Remmington Gun Oil.

  • @MrColt45acp Thanks for the answer.. I use a silicon cloth from Kleen Bore on all my blued guns. Would you recommend it for storage?

  • @TheHiddenPart believe it or not wd-40 was used on these for years, just use an oil suitable for firearm bluing.

imho, the most important thing is not to neglect the firearm, wipe down occasionally. wipe it down after it's handled, don't leave skin oils on your guns, the oils are corrosive. Don't let dirt or grease build up in corners and cracks. store long term low moisture heated atmosphere.

    thanks for watching

  • What a beauty! It looks like it was manufactured yesterday. I think you got the hang of the camera, I'm totally impressed at the quality of video it produces. Seems to maintain perfect focus. I'd buy whatever model it is based off what I have seen.

  • @taofledermaus the pistol is a beauty. the refinish job was 100% professional, there isn't even an idiot mark on the frame. the camera is a panasonic hdc-sd60.

  • @MrColt45acp You picked out a great camera. I think most of us were really craving to see those beauties in better detail, and that camera really delivers. My camera's focus tends to wander a little and yours just snaps into focus with no problem. Thumbs up as always.

  • Always great guns and info!! Thanks! That one is a beauty!!

  • @Mr45Bullitt Hi Bill, thanks for watching! I wanted to say I forgot to mention you in my shout-out video. I knew I would forget someone.

I just want to say thanks again for all your help in promoting my channel. Like Pete over at theARMORYchannel said, your a great guy. You are a real asset to the YouTube Community. Thanks for all you do, and keep up the great work!!!

  • WOW....It looks like it was made yesterday....

  • Acquired. Marine-speak for we stole that shit.

  • Re-finished by who?The Colt factory?Whoever it was they did an incredible job.

  • A lot of my friends don't agree with me but my Colt 1911 is the best gun I have ever owned. Having said that, I am looking at the Springfield XD(m) for my next gun purchase. But when I was with my Marines, my 1911 was my best buddy. LOL They were looking to replace a whole bunch of these at that time and the Division Commander signed off on letting me purchase my standard issue 1911. $170.00 in 1982. Never had a problem.

  • @NavyMedicUSMC what a deal!

    thanks for watching!

  • @MrColt45acp Well it was used (by me), and like 30 years old at the time.

  • Beautiful...thanks.

  • Amazing! Thanks for bringing it to us.

  • Great gun buddy

  • @sailingmanuel thanks for watching!

  • Just goes to show ya, We Marines have to jump thru hoops to get good gear! That is one beautiful pistol. I would imagine those first 400 were sent to High ranking officers deployed first. Is there any way to tell when the pistol was refinished?

  • @ScubaOz I will see if there is any history on the refinish. thanks for watching!

  • Very nice, I'd give up body parts to own that, lol.

  • @MyHollowpoint Your right, some of these older pistols are too nice. I've looked at a few and had to wipe the drool from the corner of my mouth, lol.

  • one more great review on y-t .... one type of gun ... so many different models !! nice story about them !!

  • Great video. Liking the higher resolution.

  • @kalliste23 thanks, so do I. now I have to shoot some of the older videos over again. :(

  • @MrColt45acp That's a good point, particularly the ones where you were showing the Inspector's Marks!

  • Beatiful pistol. Great job on the video.

  • @kvready1 thank you for watching!

  • You kinda sound like Jeff Bridges, lol. Love your videos.

  • @glynn72 I've had more than one person write that. Thanks for watching!

  • Ok, this one's the new favorite!!

  • @axishans this one is really sweet!

    thanks for watching!
