Hey , I have a 1996 v6 Camaro.  Right now I'm workin on rebuilding it and was wondering what your thought was on the pacesetters? Bc you can get them pretty cheap , but I was wondering if i get some thing more expensive if it wouldnt sound as raspy. My car sounds real mean right now witt borla exhaust but I don't want the pace setters to ruin that.

there are no resinators on my car. it goes from my pacesetter mid-tubes down to a very small magnaflow catalytic converter then to my magnaflow muffelr.

3.8Ls are too quite. No offense. I like your car tho way better than a honda. You can actually burn out in your car. I wouldnt recommend the ram air hood cars. Unless you cant get it for under $500. You wont get that much hp and tq from it even from a V8 you wont get too much of a gain.

@TransAmRob383 really what do u drive letme guess your mommy's minivan stock v6 3800 series 2 have 200hp stock i cant add any hp to mine it has 162k but runs like new i had to put a new trany it has 80k on it i put a moroso intake on it a 300 part if it had less miles i would be doing alot more to it

Put a turbo charger on this thing and you won't hear the ricey sound anymore. Put a turbo on any Chevy 3800 V6 and it won't be ricey, those things do wonders for your exhaust sound.

you wont have any problem i had an old 93 bonnieville with a 3800 series 1. the very first 3800 v6. and i had it till 178k and i got rid of it cause the body was rusting out. the motor was perfect

o no not at all you can just get a cat-back system. but if you do it all at once it is a little bit easier but obviously more expensive lol

yeah i agree, i have a off brand xlerator cat back duel exaust on mine, and up to 2600rpms it sound amazing like a v8 race car on stairoids, but over 3g and its ricy, but thats due to the way the valves and cam's are, they set the dingy exost not you may also notice this in the ferrari enzo but it smooths off at the end where the camaro doesnt oh well, all you need is pacesetter headers and a GT2 cam.

You can keep the noise I will take the speed & torque.

Actually,the 3.4l has a deeper tone than the 3.8l. I take it this is your first camaro? If not you should have known that,my 3.4 has a way deeper sound aswell as the rest ive heard on here.

mr aero this could sound alot better then it does now i have the same car and engine and it doesnt sound near what this one does i have hooker headers with 2 1/2 in exhaust straight to the magnaflow muffler at the back that splits into two and it sounds mean and loud and gave me extra hp think about it

thanks duede. no the 6'' cat means the honeycomb part is only 6inches long so its really small which equalls almost no restriction and its legal! lol that all will sound sick when you get that in. you have any pics of what the ignition looks like in the engine bay?

Let me get some up. I'm yet to install everything I bought the car a 3 weeks ago. I should have all the wires and plugs in soon (im tracking shipping the estimated time arrival is SAT.)

The engine bay on this thing isnt pretty. I've been looking around to dress it up a lil bit, but there isnt much excpet some colored wires and some chrome caps for the coolant and such.
