steve is such a ywat - why turn ur guitar up much louder than brian may`s? - its not as if he`s more talented or sold more records!! bohemian rahpsody, who wants to live, hammer to fall, need i go on?????
shut up steve - anyone can learn to play 1500 notes a second but u try writing who wants to live forever mate - see how far u get!!!!
Vai is difficult to bash if one has any intellect or ears at all. I used to play Vai for my clients when trying to sell them stereo speakers circa 1990. Actuall, that wasn't a good idea but I've always loved Satriani and Vai. All the Zappa alumnae are great, including some wonderful drummers such as Terry Bozzio and Chad Wackerman. can you list al the players here?
Thanks. What a group. I miss Cozy. I think my all time live rock record has got to be ON STAGE: Rainbow. I believe Powell was one of Jeff Beck's original drummers as he began a solo career. I saw Simon Phillips at the Greek Theatre in 1981 w/Beck on the There and Back tour. A beautiful concert it was. You are much more than an a padawan learner. Great channel.
As far as the Steve Vai bashing comments (that no longer exists, neither does the pissing contest...neither of which will be tolerated on my videos). You people can argue weather Vai is a genius or not on other videos if you want. But the fact is that he played w/ Frank Zappa, & if you know anything about Zappa, you should know that he only played w/ the BEST.
@wiz9496 And for anyone else who didn't know, I've got an announcement - Freddie Mercury (lead singer of the Queen) has passed away of a new mystery virus called AIDS. Please disregard this notice unless you are one of the following a) just come down the last shower or b) just awaken up from a 30 year coma or c) are 21 years of age or less
the genius the master of spaceage guitar.he nailed it great way to describe steve vai.these early jems were the best guitars ibanez ever made, that said this jem isnt one of the first jems.its a 77pbk the first jems were 777dy 777vdy 777lng 777sk 777vsk 777vbk
Man, I miss it when Steve Via and his wife would come out to hear my band play in Hollywood. No one bothered him either. He was really shy back in 1987-88. But opened up as soon as he joined up with David Lee Roth. I guess one has to!!
0:06-0:29 You see Joe (with hair! ponytail, and leather jacket) walk over and shake Steve's hand. He's definitely there and playing...but unfortunately, you just don't see a lot of him.
He was referring to the 3-part guitar harmonies not working out well. You can hear him say it on the Live at the Astoria London DVD with commentary turned on. I believe it's in the "Liberty" track. In fact, I looked up this performance because of that comment.
I like them all, im just happy they exist.

I don't like the sound of too many great guitarists on one stage it 's just too much and no one knows quite what to do.

According to vai this gig was a monumental disaster. I fail to see where it went wrong, its sounds pretty good to me.
