i love the viper a lot but i cant believe they only got 500 hp from a 8.3L v10 engine. the BMW M5 has a 5.0 L v10 with the same amount of hp. plus the fact that the bmws handling is way more manageable and you get four doors. viper is for the crazy people ( not in a bad way ). the bmw is for the drivers.

Yeah the 335i is better at 17/26 but not much and not impressive for a smaller car, I have a Dodge Charger R/T that is 4100lbs with a GAS HOG V8 and it gets 15/26.
the 335i is 3600lbs so not too much lighter than your charger. BMW's are know to guzzle gas though. My 335i coupe averages 17 but i'm all city. I drive like an asshole too though so thats not too bad considering BMW says the city mpg is 17. If i didnt have such a heavy foot I bet I could get around 20mpg.

Those are from the GOVERNMENT EPA site and those numbers are correct, many tests show that the Viper, the Vetter and other super cars get ok mileage for what they are. Point is that many Euro cars get terrible mileage except for their turbo 1ltr deisel cars! Yeah Euro cars average better mileage but most people in europe own tiny ECO cars, most poeple in America own pickup trucks and SUV's. I wouldnt trade any SUV for a smart car!

the beemer is vishnu tuned. That means about 370hp and 4.5sec 0-100 time. The viper does 0-100 in 4.1 They say its 3.9 but thats not the truth and is been tested. Believe me the beemer is faster of the line to 100 but at high speed the horsepowers of the viper comes up and then he will pull away.
@swansmeister I have personally gotten 3.73 seconds to 60 in one of my vipers. Properly driven, that viper should be able to get high 10s at 130-132 if the conditions are right. Low 11s in a Gen IV are common. The bimmer is out of it's league. The viper driver just isn't that great.

What is wit hthe M3 better track time comments. There is only one on the ring under 8 minutes and it the CSL which only about 120 were ever made. The E92 is over 8 minutes and so is every other BMW. The Viper SRT-10 ran a 7.59 and the ACR ran 722.1 faster than any BMW. Not to mention the 4 Corvettes running below 8 minutes.
The M3 coupe has a better track time than a Viper. Ofcourse that v10 eats the i6 in the straights, but it just can't be tamed in corners. A useful car doesn't just go in a straight line.

Stock 335D (D) makes 425 lbs of torque stock - not chipped or anything. Those cars can be had for 36k new if you wait on the BMW promo's. So dont think the viper has vice-grips on all euro 's torque.
with full bolt ons the bimmer is capable of 11.7's and over 450whp... coming from an 3.0L I6.. it is amazing... and it'd smoke a stock m3, m5, and m6.. and be pretty even if not better than that viper with a real driver in it..

i own a 2001 viper gts and i have no problem with day to day use(except fuel consmption which is pretty poor) My car just avoids the C02emmision tax law so tax is actually less than a 335i. its also good to drive! especially the crowd it draws when you park in a busy place!

The SRT is an 11 sec car out of the box with a good driver. A friend of mine had a Gen 2 RT Viper he ran to an 11.71@119 still stock. And Vipers can turn plenty, the stock tires arent very good, but a few upgrades goes a long way with the car.
And you have to take in a Porsche every fuckin month for tune ups or else it will fuck up. Vipers are like normal cars. An oil change every 3000 miles.

Put an Airaid CAI and you will see an improvement of about 2 mpg's. I have one in my 3.5L Charger. Supposedly adds 12 HP also.

unfortunately that was because the viper driver doesn't know how to drive.. it takes in the 300s of horsepower typically depending on car size to reach the 12's that car should be deep in the 11s stock at the very least, but just shows how stupid people are who drive american cars.

What is wit hthe M3 better track time comments. There is only one on the ring under 8 minutes and it the CSL which only about 120 were ever made. The E92 is over 8 minutes and so is every other BMW. The Viper SRT-10 ran a 7.59 and the ACR ran 722.1 faster than any BMW. Not to mention the 4 Corvettes running below 8 minutes.

The M3 coupe has a better track time than a Viper. Ofcourse that v10 eats the i6 in the straights, but it just can't be tamed in corners. A useful car doesn't just go in a straight line.

Stock 335D (D) makes 425 lbs of torque stock - not chipped or anything. Those cars can be had for 36k new if you wait on the BMW promo's. So dont think the viper has vice-grips on all euro 's torque.

with full bolt ons the bimmer is capable of 11.7's and over 450whp... coming from an 3.0L I6.. it is amazing... and it'd smoke a stock m3, m5, and m6.. and be pretty even if not better than that viper with a real driver in it..

i own a 2001 viper gts and i have no problem with day to day use(except fuel consmption which is pretty poor) My car just avoids the C02emmision tax law so tax is actually less than a 335i. its also good to drive! especially the crowd it draws when you park in a busy place!

UHHHHHH. You forget to mention that the BMW is NOT naturally aspirated. All those euro and rice cars you see with 100hp/litre may have power, but they don't have what actually matters, TORQUE. Without torque you can't do shit, and the Viper has WAY more torque than any euro or rice burner can ever hope to have, and TORQUE is what matters. I'd also like to point out on a euro or rice car with 100hp/litre you will not be getting 30mpg highway like in the Viper.

The SRT is an 11 sec car out of the box with a good driver. A friend of mine had a Gen 2 RT Viper he ran to an 11.71@119 still stock. And Vipers can turn plenty, the stock tires arent very good, but a few upgrades goes a long way with the car.

The entire power base of the car is generated with the front mounted motor which holds all of the cars weight, and all the power generated is thrown to the real wheels, the car is not even weighted evenly by a longshot because its designed to drag in a straight line not corner on a oval

The srt-10 base model could not do that on the track, the viper you are talking about is the ACR, and that was designed to race on the track. And your right its the second fastest time recorded at nurburgring. The ACR was designed to track, im not bashing on vipers dude so dont take it so personally, there wicked rides, but you gotta understand that dodge brought out the ACR because a avg everyday srt-10 viper cant cut it on the track,
