From what I can tell, the "walking" I saw in the video isn't very effective on DRY land, those pectoral fins on the snakehead are flat, unlike the lung fish which can effectively traverse said dry land.
More than likely the snake head is spreading from isolated water systems during flood stages, when the water levels rise near the peak of their banks.

Of the few species of snakeheads only few are destructive and ferocious,the rest are quite tasty and less agressive.
Release a pair or ferocious ones into a pond u will have to say bye bye to other fishes( if the pond is small and has no hiding water plants in it). I hate going fishing at places where there are ferocious snakehead, its very likely no fish will be caught.

NO they don't walk in land. STUPID exaggeration! I ate this fish when I was in Thailand it is a delicasy there. Americans are ignorant cuz they don't know how to cook it. This fish is so good in giving nutrients in human bodies. PLEASE do not poisoin this fish in American waters. Gov't are trying to make money again by misleading people. THIS IS FOOD and they multiply fast with good immune system! AMERICA will not be hungry if they are not ignorant! PLEASE!

it's funny, in my place, peacock bass(from amazon) eat young giant snakehead. but local people just put a "ikan puyu" (Anabas testudineus) to counter the peacock bass invasion.
and for the walking in the land, that is just a rubbish story. giant snakehead is not a very resilience species. u can try it your self. trust me.

@mohdazizee well they don't have any other fish that eats snakehead and they don't eat the snakehead so snakehead do become invasive. We had more aggressive fish to counter other fish invasion.

@s3xyb3astsixty9 Im a bit of a preachy hippy myself, but the thing you're missing is the ONLY reason these fish made it in to Pennsylvania and Maryland waters IS BECAUSE OF HUMAN INTERVENTION.
Bass are a native fish here with natural predators like musky. These fish live in balance with their food sources. But when you add a veracious eater, you throw off that balance, to a point where bass could eventually be threatened.

chill the whole scare is out of proportion most species dwell in warm water they would die in a trout habitat.
