I love this song, I appreciate it so much. It's describes Michigan so well. I love how there is nothing negative and gets ppl thinking of there home and where they are from. If ppl just knew about the other cities instead of saginaw/Detroit like the bigger cities and went to the smaller ones they would have even more appreciation cities like, Birch run, Frankenmuth, Vassar, Millington, otter lake, Tawas, may ville.

This song means so much more to me now that I have moved away from MI. I have been in TX for a year and I hate it so much sometimes I can't breathe. I want to be near my family so badly. I just had a baby girl and it is hard not being around my family now. My husband and I have nothing here.

Despite its bad potholes, weird rules, dirty downtowns of major cities, dirt roads, killer road loving deer, Snow up to the knees, skin piercing winter wind, lake affect snow and black ice, I must say that despite that and even with all that added, Michigan is my favorite state to live in because the most beautiful winters are found in the mitt. :-)

We've hired an orchestrator to put it together for a symphony. I'll be premiering it on Dec. 12th with the Lansing Symphony for their Holiday Pops concert. Brian really wrote such a beautiful, simple, and heartfelt song. I feel very privileged to be singing it.
