I was at my brothers house and cut a piece of Walnut, Now it is time to build the instrument, I am also taking pictures, and videos, and will build a video when I'm done
@heidebill awesome! i'm excited to see how it turns out! i've got two peices on my porch im going to start chizelling tomorrow!, Can't wait to get them done.! Make sure you send me the end result i'd love to see it finished!!
@heidebill You would be able to tune a PVC Didgeridoo Very easily, In terms of Wood The best way to tune it would be to. Hollow the wood, Put it back together, Put a mouth peice on.. Play the didgeridoo Find out what key its NEAR, then slowly Cut it down to fine tune it. SO cutting Off length to bring it to the perfect Note. It will be time consuming, but i think it would be the best way to get the Didgeridoo to a perfect Note.
@heidebill Each didgeridoo will be differetn based on Width of the wood and length, So slowly cutting the length off will be the only way to make sure you bring it to a perfect note. Whichever it is Closest to. Use a Tuner , Play the didgeridoo and if it is say a D# bring the length down a Pinch, Keep doing that until you get it perfect!
I built a Didgeridoo, from a piece of Plastic conduit I had laying around, I have the Circular breathing well underway, Hopefully it is not to cold in the next while , I want to head into the bush and cut a branch from one of my trees, and build one. Hope fully have it done for january, Going to Hawaii, to little beach and join the drum circle with my new Didgi
@heidebill Hey! that's Great news! I hope your build goes really well!! I have a little advice to throw your way!, If your Set on making one out of a branch thats growing on a tree, there is a chance that the Piece will warp a bit when you split it in half! My didgeridoos in this video were both Branches and they both warped a little bit which made them a little harder to put back together!
But If you cut down a Sappling tree that is Straight it won't Warp much or At all! makes it easier!
@heidebill thank you, if you make one and learn to play it You will thank yourself. After I'm done playing and breathing I am in such a peaceful place. Everybody should know what that feels like
i know i've already commented....but i saw a band perform this weekend called "Songs of Water"...they're instrumental and play instruments from all over the world, including hammered dulcimer and all kinds of percussion instruments. i think you should be in a band like that because it would be extremely fitting i feel like. hah just thought i'd share that with you.
@danabuffington Hey , thanks so much for sharing I'm going to look them up and have a listen, I hope one day I'll find a cool band like that to be a part of. again thanks a lot!
this vid was the best...i'm building a didg for my class and i didn't wanna present with the PVC model...but having the actual didg really will give me an up on the class...thanks man!
THANK YOU MAN!!! That is very insightful.

In your experience, can you tune a didgeridoo to a specific note, eg "A"
Then could you build three , A,D,E
