Saw the revival of this production with Lawrence Brownlee. Both really good singers. Florez has more volume than Brownlee who was constantly overpowered by the other singers especially by Ramey.

While it's pretty obvious that Mattei isn't really playing the guitar here, I find it quite interesting to see he's at least making an effort at correct chord formations in order to play the part convincingly. Nice attention to detail in the performance I think.

@cantanteporsiempre Pues entre los muchos que dijeron esta nada menos que Placido Domingo. Hoy en dia todos los medios lo reconocen y los escepticos tienen que reconocerlo porque no tienen opcion. Tu opinion no cuenta porque viene de una persona que solo reacciona cuando ve que su idolo ya fue superado. Lo unico bueno que has escrito es tu frase es 'cuestion de gustos' donde tu formas parte de esa minoria con mal gusto.

Patetica rendicion de una aria bella, perfecta, con un claro despecho hacia ella. Florez la deshace. En que estara pensando, en la novia, en el aplauso, en su "tecnica".

Un verdadero insulto a Rossini, el publico, y al que es el maestro, Luigi Alva, que aqui tambien la canta.

Esta versión con tanto decoración y ornamento inventado no me gusta, rompe el sentimiento de la melodia y transforma esto en otra cosa. Pienso yo, es mi apreciación.
