@ GhostieDarling : Are you using the right size hoop? It sounds like that may be your problem. Hooping in the opposite direction seems a bit akward at first, but I just have a feeling that you may be using a hoop that is too small. I was kinda dumb & started out with a toy hoop I bought @ K-mart. haha. Maybe try making another one and see if that helps at all & good luck! <3

This video meant a lot to me. I find it easy to get discouraged by comparing myself to others and lose track of why I'm hooping in the first place--- because it feels good. This was a nice reminder that brilliant hoopers are only brilliant because they've dropped their hoops 10,000 times before and will continue dropping hoops because they never want to stop learning. Love the process indeed! I'll take your advice and start documenting my progress for myself so I don't take it for granted.

I'm a poi spinner, recently met some hoopers, hence: looked up some vids and found this. Very well done. It's so awesome that you put your own experience into this video to show the human element of learning, trying, failing, and succeding, instead of just posting a vid about what you CAN do.
It's what we CAN'T do...yet... that determines who we're going to be later on.

I'm a poi spinner, recently met some hoopers, hence: looked up some vids and found this. Very well done. It's so awesome that you put your own experience into this video to show the human element of learning, trying, failing, and succeding, instead of just posting a vid about what you CAN do.
It's what we CAN'T do...yet... that determines who we're going to be later on.

Thank you sooooo much for this. I have been practicing for a few weeks now and this helped me remember that its not something I can learn over night. It gave me inspiration and hope to be as wonderful as you some day! I am going to watch this video every day before I get out there and hoop. :) Once again thank you for this video

this is perfect for my girlfriend a poi spinner and beginner hoop spinner she hit a wall with poi and hoops she cant do anything and i keep telling her to just keep going dont stop, she'll make it someday...not only for her but me as well, i am stuck at the advanced level of poi trying to push every and any technique i can under me and well sometimes i just wanna give up, but its my dream to become an artist of the flow...i will attain it someday...thank you Sandra :)

Very inspirational video. I don't have my hoop yet due to financial setbacks, but I do know that when I do, I will follow this advice every time I drop the hoop.. I'll pick it right back up and just laugh......
