you should tip for your services because the staff have the low wage. they need more tip from you. for example: they have one dollar a day and they have to work too hard. they almost are students. they have no another choice

The apology was unsincere, which is typical for many servers. Even though this was just a demonstration, it's a typical example of ambigupus communication. Her verbal communication is not the same as her non-verbal. A more sincere apology where the servers shows actual emotions, rather than talking "like a robot", will let the customers actually feel important.
I HATE it when its gets busy. So when Im Calm, that's when the customers tend to form the instinct to get pushy. We do the best we can, if the Cooks have alot of orders that take time to cook you have to be patient. Especially if you come on a Weekend Night. you dont like waiting for quality food? Take your bitch ass to McDonalds for quicker service. Other then that life and my job is good, and my money is good. =^)
When your a waiter your pay is on average 2.15 an hour. Not 7.15. Your tips are your paycheck. Most waiter/waitress paychecks are cancelled out by taxes on the tips (Which do have to be reported) The reason we get paid the 2.15 an hour is basically just for taxes, and we live completely off tips. Imagin working a 6-8 hour shift at 2.15 an hour, waiting on a quests every request and then getting no tip. That would be working for free, tips on our service is our money, be considerate! :)

i don't know why these people should get tipped. They don't cook or clean the tables. Plus, it's not like they have degrees or advanced education so i don't know why they should be tipped to even begin with. Mimimum wage? What do u expect from waiting tables. U expect $15.00 an hr or 70,000 annual salary?
@Tonster1998 Have YOU worked as a waiter?, In some restaurants namely smaller ones. The waiter does most of everything besides the cooking. Clean the tables/restaurant, fill the salt/sugar shakers, and wait your tables. On a busy day that is not an easy job. 15 dollars is a bit too much, but minimum wage is usually about 7.25/7.50 now. Even that's not much for your average worker. Don't be rude and appreciate the things people do! (Some waiters/waitresses are rude bitches)
all you can do in this situation is say, "hi folks am really sorry about your wait the kitchen is really backed up i'm so sorry can i get you any drinks ?" make sure if you know they are taking a long time go up to them DO NOT HIDE!!!
never EVER clear classes of table without a tray! and you clear off the empty glasses AFTER you've brought in the refill.
a table with guests with a clear table is more or less a restaurant signal that the guests have paid, or that new guests have just arrived (depending on what type of standard the place holds)
That depends on the restraunt. She was probably just going to refill that glass. In a more casual restaraunt you dont bring an entirely new glass to a table. You just go refill it. I see what your getting at but i don't think she was clearing the table.

Looks like there's a lot of knowledgeable waiters in the comments and most of them have pretty bad spelling and grammar.
Here's the secret to being a good waiter, bring me my food and fuck off.
Job done.
