  • best guitar player in the world

  • Amazing

  • tAbs anyone???????

  • I wonder how many takes this took.

  • @102938abel one

  • There is a GOD and his name is ULI

and his guitar strings is made of angel voices

  • Ufff que interpretación.Exelent.

  • por k todos estos guitarristas se visten como piratas?

  • And they call Yngwie a poser haha xD

  • This is fuckin' epic. I still can't believe that I never heard about this guy.

  • @gunnerslash

    former guitarrist for Scorpions ;D

  • they all have the same hairstyle lol

  • Cool Hat!!!!!!!

  • Seriously, do you think he nailed all the violonist here? :D

  • groso

  • me le tromberei tutte mentre uli suona la chitarra

  • Very beautiful to hear and watch. Thank you. It reminds us of the much gracefulness an electric guitar can possess, an element many guitar players today commonly fail to achieve.

  • Love his tone! It was so singing and violinistic, and it was extremely similar to a bird singing

  • His playing is great dum dum. Uli is incorporating an instrument that is quite a different animal than the traditional stringed instruments of the 18th century. It of course sounds strange and unusual to the ear to hear an electric guitar combined with strings, with their different string attack methods, and maybe it is a matter of taste, however, he is a man who dares to be different and you have to respect THAT!

  • not bad desafortunadamente ahora tooooodos quieren ser musicos o cantantes o guitarristas<<<<< pero eso se construye se gana se hace.... ta bueno el tipo...esto ya se escuchaba en colombia... ooh yea

  • I've liked this guy for ages - massively influential - but his timing and phrasing is really dodgy here.

  • @TheZenB I'm confused why u think timing and phrasing is off? Its rite on.

  • @naedekim99 I have to agree with TheZenB on that one. he sometimes sounds a little off but don't get me wrong it's still a great performance.

  • That was so beyond killer.

  • no seas mamon ta chida esta madre!!!!i wanna see them at the 70 000 tons of metal

  • Its amazing - but sometimes reminds me of a musical saw....

  • Now THAT is an orchestra!

  • mmm. i love women that can play instruments.

  • dont undertsand, he is a man...

  • ok now i understand, u mean the violin players.

    hell yeah, they are hot

  • @JURGMANDR Check out Lori Linstruth !!

  • @JURGMANDR and they are also hot XD

  • This stuff is just fucking awesome.

  • damn, he knows how to form an orchestra.

  • cheesy as fuck. Obviously good player, but I really don't like the style.

  • oui c'est un monstre en puissance papi Uli :p

  • sa guitarre est monstrueuse ! six ectave !

  • six octave? damn i can barely handle two!!! yea always have loved uli neoclassical metal yes!!

  • The last true pirate left on earth, and the real owner of the black pearl. LOL All joking aside yes he is awesome.

  • si vivaldi viviera hoy quizas aplaudiria a este tio, una maquina de tocar la guitarra con una grandisima adaptacion y una tecnica muy muy buena...ridiculo es tu comentario, eso esta claro.

  • he should play in a hard rock band again...like scorpions...he's pretty good

  • Pretty good???? He is one of the best guitarists ever

  • yes i failed! xD

    definately best german guitarist

  • Dude that's a real solo.

  • soooo many frets :|

  • 6 octave guitar, my gawd it's awesome.

  • Sorry, not inside, but under the 24th fret.

  • It's not made by Fender, but it's design is made after it. It's called a Sky Guitar, which are unique guitars made with multiple frets. To give it's high pitch a unique sound, an Oram Pickup is hidden inside the 24th fret. I'm not sure if the guitar he's using in this video is the Mighty Wing or the Destiny.

  • Can u imagine listeing to him live? well i can-im soooooo fucking lucky:DD

and the guitar-so sorry its supposed to be his favourite one but i cant recall the name

  • Damn way to make a video. Many of the musicians there are really beautiful. I want to meet them and make love to them. Everybody seems to notice Uli's playing and gear but no one mentions the musicians that play with him. When I say musicians I think they deserve to be called that too, along with Uli. Is a 1, 2 combination.

  • Awesome...epicly awesome...

  • i want a half strat like that with a ton of frets

  • how many strings does his guitar have i think 7 maybe

  • yep.. and 32 frets and 4 octavely extra frets... wow

  • im such a shit, I just listen to him and I was considered to my self like a musical encyclopedia. Well, I finally understand Yngwie, Ritchie.

  • wow, what a cool guitar.

    Can anyone tell me?

  • "My guitar has 32 frets, your argument is invalid"

    - Uli Jon Roth

  • and 7 strings =D

  • WOW !!!

  • 3:51!!!!

  • God

  • most of us who comment on these players are guitarplayers we must enjoy the music of what thay do first ! all of them are frends to some point . it seems that all we do on youtube is fight on who is better!you like what you like. just remember thay are better then us

  • The girls are hot.

  • Woo! This is verycool, i heard this song

years ago on radio and don't recall seein

this video for the song. Still it's a great

song.Uli Jon Roth is a great Guitarist

    and SongWriter/Conposer.

  • it was composed by Vivaldi.

  • I don't know what the fuss is here, Yngwie himself holds Uli in the same high esteem as he holds Hendrix. Yngwie looked to Uli as Chuck Norris looked to Bruce Lee, as a mentor. Uli was "there" before Yngwie. Yngwie is great so is Uli there American counter parts would be Steve Vai and his mentor Joey Satriani. In this case, Uli is the best kept secret, the vast public in the US unfortunately don't know who he is. He needs greater recognition. In my book Uli is the best for this genre.

  • ritchie blackmore speed is NOT technicality....the current worlds fastest shredder cant even play anythin on a guitar all he can do is shred

  • that's how most of the super fast ones are... look at francesco fareri (sorry if that's who u were talking about i actually have no idea who the worlds fastest guitarst is... hehe) incredible speed... no style...

  • Haha awsum!

  • You're all retarded if you think I was talkin' shit about Uli. He is my favourite guitarist alongside Blackmore and Gilmour. I've even met him in person once.

  • i see him live in Milano!

    a tribute to jimi hendrix

    it was cool

  • that is a crazy fretted guitar. the way they get skinny towards the bottom then fatter at the very bottom.

  • He is a great guitar player, but he also played neo classic way before the other (including Malmsteen). Also check is longtime playing with Scorpions on the great tokyo tapes (live)

  • this guy kills every moder-world-metalbands!

Shut the f****** hell up!Face the thruth.

  • he is a metal axeman...

  • Sorry, we don't seem to be on the same level.

    I quit this conversation now.

    Cheers.

  • You don't think Blackmore is a better composer than Yngwie?! Ever heard of an album by the name of "Rainbow Rising"?!

Well, I didn't intend to diss Uli, I just wanted to mark the difference in technique between him and Yngwie. ^^

  • Yeah. But in the same way Uli and Ritchie Blackmore are like Beethoven and Mozart - splendid composers, not technically brilliant on their instruments, but yet their quality is indisputable.

Yngwie, on the other hand, is an amazingly skilled player - just like Paganini - but lacks a little something when it comes to composing.

Like you say, Paganini's works aren't as well known as the other dudes' mentioned, but yet there are gems to be found. I think it's the same with Yngwie.

  • I think that's only on his later albums, his first album however, holds dear to my heart for every song being a jewel for me.

  • Hahahahahah.... uli is not technically brilliant? Try playing a 32 fret guitar with 7 strings.....

Or you never listened to TSG 1,2,3 or you're def...

You probably never noticed, but Uli is way better technically than malmsteen....

  • "Uli not technically brilliant" is biggest bull**** ever. Ridiculous. The "touch" Uli has when he plays is one of a kind. So soft, so colourful.

  • I didn't say that. I said that he isn't as technically skilled as Malmsteen. At least he doesn't show it.

However, Uli has several other qualities that kick Malmsteen's ass over and over.

You can't measure guitar skills by speed.

  • Ok man, but can you explain to me what you mean when you say that Uli is not technically brilliant? What is he missing besides the fact that he doesn't play as fast as Yngwie? If you don't mean speed, then what is it?

  • I said that he is not as technical as Yngwie. And Yngwie is not a bad technician. Thus it doesn't have to mean that Uli sucks just because he hasn't got the same speed skillz as Yngwie.

Uli has all the important qualities that Yngwie lack: touch, emotion, sense of mergin guitar with classical instruments, and last, but not least, a moustache.

  • You didn't mean to put down Uli, so it's ok. I think I understand what you mean. Let's just enjoy both of them.

  • The Moustache is Uli's mojo.

  • does it matter if one guitarist is faster than another? speed is nice where applicable... likewise... the slower more melodic solos generally referred to as having more "feeling" (arguable) have their place as well... just because a guitarist is faster makes him no more a technician than the next... and the same goes for whatever anyone feels about one guitarist having more "feeling" than another

  • You forget sails of charon, by his old band: Scorpions. Ya, that song has "feel"

  • Nah, I'd say Uli is Beethoven and Yngwie is Paganini.

  • This was great, hes a realy amazing guitarplayer, not only technical but with feeling to, unlike Yngwie who got ZERO feeling. (Sorry all Yngwie fans but fact is fact, Yngwie only knows how to play fast.)

  • I would like to know how to play "only" fast as malmsteen .. all those who play fast play as malmsteen?? hahaha you are crazy.. try to play a song of malmsteen an record it.. after

compare with a original song of yngwie and post on you tube..

  • Listen to all of Rising Force (The Album) and come back and say that

  • Simply phenomenal. I met Uli at a show here in Albuquerque and he is such a humble and quiet man. I was the youngest guy there to see him and he had the biggest smile on his face when he looked down and saw me headbanging my ass off to "Sails of Charon". Seeing him in person was a spiritual experience. My brothers and I have worshipped him forever. It's downright frightening how well he plays. It's almost supernatural.

  • bravo maestro!!!! i bet even vivaldi would love this, just great!!!

  • Foi nos últimos tempos a melhor sonorização que adentrou em meus ouvidos !!!

  • He is fantastic. He beats Yngwie to the title as the all time greatest neoclassical guitarist, for sure. And I'm pretty sure Yngwie would admit that too. :)

  • Uli Roth is a true artist and a incredibly talented guitar player. Thank you for giving us so much wonderful music.

  • made the hair on my skin crawl...

  • uli is unigue a true rock pirate!!!

  • I knew it had to be at least 28 frets lol, 32 is crazy! And how many strings are on that thing?

  • Seven xD.

  • best guitarist ever

  • He is a brilliant artist !!

  • Uli is a god !

  • 3:50 - 4:10 uli: fuck you yngwe!!!!

  • Uli Jon Roth has a decade on Malmsteen. I am not comparing the two but Uli is great in his own right.

  • amazing

  • SPECTACULAR. I want an hat like Uli!

  • Of course we all know that Uli was NOT the original lead guitarist with Scorpions right? Nay, it was Michael Schenker. Uli, then Michael again, THEN Mathias Jabs. Now you know.

  • simply amazing! the king of neo clasical!

  • it's just you---not sharp at all. Uli is awesome: he is coming to Pittsburgh, PA 10/4/08

  • Is it just me, or is his guitar a bit sharp?

  • Yeah, it is a tad sharp.

  • Yngwie Malmsteen was influenced by this guy. And for those of you thinking of disagreeing with this comment just because I'm not talking about Uli Jon Roth, just know that I can defenitely see Malmsteen's influence from this guy.

  • i agree brother!

  • Malsteem and Satriani Look up to Uli as their Guitar God!

  • and jason becker on his website say "you must heard uli" go read if dont believe me :-)

  • i love that guitar and i love that hat

  • Amd all this beautifull "ladies"!!...:-).....

  • Where is that concert???

  • For some reason, it makes me want to watch Pirates of the Caribbean! Old fashioned, high seas, adventurous, magical, with someone who looks like a pirate.

UJR is a genius in technique, melody, emotion and composition. Canonize him!

  • ...and he 's very spiritual,too!......

  • At least he 's one of the most underrated (and unknown) guitar player in the world!

  • Great video.

  • I just loves how he violins in with the first two notes.

  • Uli's genius truly knows no bounds. thats why i bought all his CDs. i wish i could see him live though. better save up my money for the sky academy i guess...:)

  • Has anyone numbered how many frets does this guitar have? can anyone plz tell me? =P i'm really curious to know xP

  • It says 32 in the description ''tut tut''

  • sum hot chicks there

  • indeed!!

    cellooo ladies :-)

  • and he probably boning some of them just cuz hes the master

  • you are not too bright are you? those young beautiful ladies who must be highly educated maybe the likes of Juliard music school would never touch a delusional, old wrinkly, scraggly hair, hook nose man like Uli who happens to wear fairy boots .......... did you take you daily perscribed dose of thorazine? must be nice to have your head up in the clouds?

  • hell yes it is

  • you don't know what your talking about, Uli Jon Roth taught Schenker how to play for the most part.

  • you are retarded? hope your mum dies for such ignorance! copy malmsteens licks?

  • 22obpms you must be a really sad lonely little man to wish death on my mother when the truth to the matter is I bet you were on laying on your belly on the floor .... kicking your feet with your arms flailing about throwing a total tantrum because you know I am right but you just do not want to admit the truth

  • Dear GOD you are a pile of WANK.

Schenker, Malmsteen and Uli Jon Roth are very different guitarists. And you, are tone deaf.

    I'm bored with you now.

    HOME GO PLOX!

  • Dude! Little harsh!

The guys a cunt, but it's not his mams fault...

  • a long-term classically trained musician has got a precision unknown to anyone in the rock- or jazz-world. the fact itself that uli roth is able to blend in with the orchestra quite nicely, deserves the highest respect. (I just think that once in a while he could make a pause.)

additionally, the lady on the cello is awesome. :-) hey lady, if u read this, contact me ;-)

  • Unknown to jazz world?

Well.. i'm no expert. But have you ever listened to Django Reinhardt Stuff? Gypsy Csardas by Monti?

  • Schenker stole 4-point layovers from Uli.

Despite that, Uli playing is TOTALLY different from schenker's... you have to be a really stupid person to go comparing guitarists in a versus kind of game.

Uli is WAY more classically oriented than ANY other electric guitarist known. Michael Schenker just followed the rock-approach with some classic feel.

  • You have the facts all wrong Uli never taught Schenker to play.

Strangers in the Night and Tokyo Tapes are untouchable.

They both have great phrasing, vibrato, speed, emotion, and skill to kill. Schenker was self taught. Rudolf Schenker would pay him a few bucks to learn songs for him while he went to work. He was about 13 at the time

  • Absolutely true :)

  • you rock as always!

Strangers in the Night and Tokyo Tapes are untouchable.I agree

  • Don't forget Made In Japan! What a trio of live concerts!

  • that was seriously cool

its just a shame half the video was taken up with silence.

  • simply awesome, the sky guitars have such a bright singing tone, almost makes me weep.

  • could you imagine what it would be like to play one of his sky guitars, that would be amazing

  • lol how many frets! \o/

    just perfect!

  • laerl ^^ uli is one of the best living guitarplayers ... he looks deeply strange

(that hippie-hat ^^) but he roxx!

he is one of the few guys who can in fact do

    nearly anything with a guitar!

    skyyyyyyyguitar!

  • stop saying bullshit

  • yeah right, ULI steals off YNGWIE.

(hint, its the other way around, and UJR is better anyway)

  • Lo clásico jamás morirá!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Man if i had that guitar I'd try to do a harmonic on 32nd fret while bending it, lmao.

  • foooking awesooome!

  • Great orchestration and cello parts, great scoring, if Uli orchestrated this himself he's an exceptional musician,if he hired someone to do the HARD work he's very good but less exceptional, waiting for the guitar with 64 frets to complete the Wizzardy, the Universe is the limit obviously.

  • That's Spring first part by Antonio Vivaldi.

  • Great guitar, performance, song, and everything!

  • Amazing guitar
