It was a mistranslation of the symbols John copied from memory and meant nothing to John because he didn't speak or read the Arabic language. They also represent the entire church age from Christ's acension to His second coming. The Church of Philidelphia is the second to the last church (the condition of the church spiritually) prior to His return. The last church was neither hot or cold in the midst of all the signs. Noah was the only righeous man to be found. God was about to destroy the evil ones with a flood. He protected Noah and his family. They laughed and mocked Noah all the while he was building the ark and laughed at his warnings. Then God told him to enter the ark. God shut the door so no man could open it not even Noah from inside the ark.
